Hey buddy my life isn't about posting on blogs. I had no clue that I could let you know who I am. My name is Mike Davis I'll be on the cruise going to Catalina that leaves from Long Beach this Friday June 6th. I'll be one of the guys with Mardi Gras beads on just ask for me and I'll be happy to meet you and find out why you enjoy being taken advantage of, and that goes for all of you that think I'm a complainer or cowered. I'll be happy to give you my side of the story sense it's obvious that you can't read or understand what I'm explaining to you, about how Carnival has treated a loyal customer.

Wow I pissed this guy off ALL CAPS. What a stupid question yes I was a kid, and I hope I do get old. You must work for Carnival too because you just don't get it. I don't want to go on a cruise with kids and I don't want to go on a cruise with old people. I'm looking to have a good time so why would I want to be surrounded by kids or old people. I want to have fun. By the way my parents (not what I consider old) are on my side and see my point of view. In fact my parents are leaving on a Carnival cruise this weekend too, to Canada. They said after what I have been going through with Carnival they will never book with them again. CARNIVAL I FEEL SORRY FOR YOUR COMPANY. NO RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER!!!

Lainy you are witty!!! ***holes and opinions fuuuuunnnnnyyyyy!!!! By the way I never complain my life is perfect. I just hate to be cheated. All I want is a explanation on why the ship is going to Catalina instead of Mexico. The government has NO restrictions on Mexico and Carnival has other ships going to Mexico, so how come this ship isn't going to Mexico? That is all I want to know. Maybe one of the Carnival employees that are on this forum can answer my question. I understand the swine flu out break, but Mexico is open. I would understand if Carnival said NO ships are going to Mexico because of fear for our passengers. Then I would be ok and say Here I Come Catalina Party Time. But this isn't the case for some reason the ship I'm on won't go to Mexico like other ships in the fleet.

FYI...When Carnival changed the West Coast Itineraries, one of my booked cruises was changed. I received a call from my Carnival PVP on the day the new itineraries were announced, and asked if we wanted to cancel the booking for a full refund, get a 100% credit towards a future cruise, or did we wish to rebook.

Other people booked on the same cruise told me thay were contacted by their travel agents and given the same choices. I have no idea why this happened to you. Oh, and as an almost senior, I am sorry that you don't wish to cruise with my age group. Too bad, those of us who grew up in the 60's REALLY know how to party.

And...why book a cruise in the summer when the kids are out of school if you don't want to be with kids.

    Just MY OPINION....lol

Yeah that's what they said when I called that they sent a letter and made calls. But I never got a letter. But when it came time to pay my portion of the cruise (we are in a large group) the carnival sales person called me to get my payment at least three times. But no call when they changed the cruise. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Seeing how you are a child of the 60's you know about free LOVE and I don't want free love from someone in their 60's no matter how FUN they are. And we book in the summer because of all the girls graduating from High School and collage, and because of the bachelorette parties, not to hang out with kids.

Canceling for a refund is incorrect.  I spent hours on the phone arguing for a refund and they denied me.  they would only reschedule my cruise...I don't have the vacation time...I wanted a refund and they will not give it....The ports are open and Carnival is making the concious choice not to honor thier contractual agreement with thier customers...This is horable PR for them!

Ports are open, Carnival ships are going to Mexico...But ours this weekend are not...This leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  I bring 50+ people on this cruise every year and Carnival makes the decision to reroute us to Catalina.  This is unacceptale and unforgiveable.  If this is not rerouted this will be the last time our group cruises with Carnival.  Catalina is the last place I want to go.  I didn't sign up for this.  Gerry Cahill will be making headlines for this one!

Way to stay possitive!  why don't you pay me for a mercedes and I'll give you a Honda....If your as possitive as you sound it shouldn't bother you......Carnival banks on people like you!!  You are thier bread and butter!

Actually, I am a RN from TX. Sorry, but NO I do not work for Carnival. If you read the Carnival web site, they have a section that says that they can change ports at their discretion and they give reasons to why and how they may deal with a port change. I just figured instead of complain about it, book another cruise that will satisfy you. Things happen.

Well there are other cruise options out there. If you don't like cruising with children or older people, find a cruise line that will suit you. Seems to me that this cruise line is family oriented and doesn't just cater to one specific age group. Anytime I have had an issue it was always resolved. My family has never had any unresolved problems with carnival. To be honest, Carnival cannot satisfy everyone and for those that seem to have problems can keep it moving until they find whatever it is that they are looking for.

So I guess that I am just the exception to the rule when it comes to being taken advantage of and caring about what I purchase. This is my last cruise with them. This is why our country is so bad right now because of corporate greed. Carnival won't take the hit on docking fees that they paid to dock in Catalina. Sack up Carnival and stop being greedy and take the hit and give me what I paid for a cruise to Mexico. By the way team if you want to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau here is the link Carnival has a B- My company a Radio Promotion company has an A and yes my friends in Radio will know how bad I was treated by Carnival. Maybe we can have justice when this gets on the Radio and TV and they have a look into Carnival. Sorry I'm just mad here is the link http://www.la.bbb.org/BusinessReport.aspx?CompanyID=13021905

You keep saying that you had a contract with carnival. Maybe you should read this. It is directly taken from their site under the Legal section:

    ________________________________________________________________________

    Port Cancellation Policy

If Carnival Cruise Lines ("Carnival") has adequate notice prior to sailing that a vessel will deviate from the published itinerary, it will promptly -- upon making the itinerary change -- notify guests of the change through their travel agents or directly, in the case of a direct booking ("the Notice"). The Notice shall offer guests an opportunity to cancel their booking without penalty within 24 hours of the delivery of the Notice. Carnival shall not be liable to guests for any charges, fees or expenses paid or owed to third parties (such as air travel booked by a guest directly with an airline) in connection with a cancelled booking or substituted port. In the event a guest does not cancel his or her cruise on a timely basis, no additional compensation for the itinerary change will be offered to the guest at a later time.

In the event the itinerary change becomes necessary while the ship is at sea or when notice prior to sailing is not feasible, Carnival shall attempt to substitute an alternative port. Carnival shall promptly provide written notice of the itinerary change to the guests as well as announcing the change in the Carnival Capers and via the public address system. No compensation shall be provided to guests when an alternative port is offered.

If safety, scheduling or other concerns prevent the ship from calling on an alternative port, Carnival shall promptly provide written notice of the elimination of the scheduled port to the guests as well as announcing the change in the Carnival Capers and via the public address system. The written notice shall also offer a shipboard credit of $20.00 (U.S.D.) per person to be reflected on the sail and sign account.

Nothing herein shall affect the guest's ability to exercise the Vacation Guarantee on sailings where it applies.

    ____________________________________________________________________

Stop complaining. You had ample time to cancel your cruise. It's obvious Carnival notified you BEFORE you cruised.
