Anyone else going? DH and I will be celebrating our third anniversary one week early cuz the cabin we wanted was unavailable.  Who cares?  It's Acapulco! And my fifth cruise - then 5 to go for that free laundry so I won't have to pack so much...

Also looking for suggestions for the best restaurant for a romantic dinner in Acapulco?

      We go the week before you, 8days of fun in the sun!!! Go to the cliff diving area and there is a nice restaurant there, Romance is where you make it, so go all out and enjoy every minute of it!

Thanks but DH and his electric wheelchair can't access the cliff divers. Any other suggestions?

Just found out the restaurant IS accessible adn you get a good view of the divers - have seen them in Mazatlan but not in ACA yet.

Neighbors!  What good fortune - hello to you both. I just spoke last night to a gentleman here in Vegas who I met on a cruise to Canada in the Spring. He told me about a wonderful trip in Acapulco - 3 hours so you can take the excursion, got back for a nap and to change and off to dinner. He will check with his wife for the name of the great seafood restaurant they went to in Acapulco. If you are interested in hearing about this excursion, email me privately and I'll fill you in. It's limited to 8 so we need to keep this on the QT.

Quie a few folks have answered online roll calls here and on cruise critic. Where and when should we have a meetup? I'm thinking the Lido Pool Bar about an hour before sailaway. Any other ideas?

How about if we meet at the Aft Bar on the Aft Deck about an hour and a half before sailaway. That deck will be crowded for sailaway but if we sneak up there in plenty of time, we should find seats at or near the bar. If this time and location is good for you, I will let the folks on cruise critic know, too. We now have a group of about 30 people who have been corresponding about this trip. Should be a blast! I can send you a photo album of the people if you'd like. That way, we can all recognize each other. Most of them look to be about my age or a little younger and I'll bet there are a few who will get up and do the Chicken Dance with me!

I am really looking forward to this getaway. I'm backing away from some of my  volunteer work and charities because I need to pay more attention to my DH and our homelife. BTW, we are celebrating our third anniversary on this cruise. We have not cruised since June and it's been too long - we went on a little trip to Zion N.P. which was pretty good, more for the company than the trip. It rained the second day and cut Zion short and I know next time to get a hotel closer to the park but that's the breaks. Sometimes you have to make a short initial trip to a destination to know if and how you want to go back. Found a little Italian deli in St. George (!) run by a guy from California and I could have sworn I was in Little Italy, NY when we ate there - homemade Italian pastries and espresso for brekkie and the most incredible scrambled eggs. We tried bits of my DH's grinder (until he took it away from us) and next time, I'll stop there and get a picnic made up for the park.

That's what's so much fun about travel - you never know what you will find and a new friend is always just around the corner!

 My wife and I will be on the Spirit on the 3rd...This will be our 24th on Carnival, would love to meet up. Don't have much time we are leaving on the Splendor today (9/20) in about two hours, I havent started to pack yet hahahah. We have a driver in Accapulco that we have used twice, its a very inexpensive way to see Accapulco.

Got your message about the cab. Understood. But we can still meet up along with everyone else at the Aft Bar before sailaway. Not sure exactly what time we leave but we'll be at or near that bar about an hour and a half before sailaway.

This will be a great trip! Can't wait to get back on a Carnival ship...
