This was a past cuise special last year when we booked.  Anyone else sailing

My DH and I will be on that cruise. We will be celebrating our 47th anniversary on 9/15.  We (especially me) are very excited!  This will be our 5th cruise - 4 with Carnival.  We have always had a great time on board and we don't do many excursions becaue I have trouble walking and use a rolling walker. I hope we can meet at some time on our ship. We are also on the cruisecritic.com boards.

My girlfriend from work is going with me this cruise.  My husband gets seasick and won't cruise anymore..lol.  My older brother from Miami will be meeting us onboard too.  My mother and I have been on the Glory several times so I really love this ship.  She used to get so winded that I talked her into a wheel chair one time and the last three cruises she used it everytime and it was great.

If you ask for a wheel chair they will provide it and getting to dinner and all around the ship is a lot easier.  Think about it?!  If I could get my friend to wheel me around I would get one! HaHa.

We are on Empress Deck but you can always find me in the casino,  see you guys soon.  Happy Anniversary.

We will also be on the Empress deck #7356.  We haven't been on Glory before but I am sure we will love it!!

The wheelchair thing won't work for us because DH (Mal) is really not able to push me (Priscilla, by the way).  I got along well with my rollator on the Legend so I think we will do fine.  And it ha a seat if I need it.

We also spend a lot of time in the casino - I won $1500 (6000 quarters) on one spin.  I only do slots and Mal does video poker.

In 1995 I hit for $5,000 on dollar double diamonds but that's the only big hit I ever got.  Since then I sure they got it all back and then some HaHa.  I really love the Glory.  They will probably book you in the platinum dining room seems they always do and then I change to the Golden because it's mid ship and easier to get to.  We all have early dining.

By the way if I don't answer promptly it's because I am at work and I really get busy sometimes.  But I jump online some in the morning and at lunch.

We were both born and brought up in Massachusetts but we relocated to Palmetto, Florida almost 4 years ago and we love it!!  This is our 3rd cruise since we've been here but the first that we didn't leave from Tampa - only about 40 miles north on the highway!  This time we are driving over (about 3 to 4 hours) the day before and staying at the Radisson right near the port and we can leave our car there for the week.

I look forward to meeting you (and your bear).  We do early dining, too  what is the difference in dining rooms?  The Legend only had one and we ate all of our dinners there as well as some other meals.  I liked it better than the buffet.  Also I would like to know if I would have access to the seafood place; it seems to be upstairs from the Lido buffet.

I was raised in Miami, my husbands'  family is from Tennessee,  so I have been here since 1971.

Both dining rooms are nice, just familiar with the Golden. Both are two levels high as is the Lido buffet dining room.  There is a sushi bar on the left and a deli on the right as you go into Red Sail on Lido.  The buffet is really good on the Glory, same food as is in dining room except on Captains' Dinners...no lobster etc.

You only have 3-4 hr drive, we have 12-13 hr UGH!  My brother Pat is driving up from South Miami.

By the way, ?"seafood place?"  There is a dinner club upstairs above Lido area actually above the Red Sail restaurant.

The seafood restaurant or buffet is Sur Mer on the Veranda Deck.  It looks like just stairs going up to it from Lido Deck.  I love fish and chips so I was wondering.  The dinner club (that everyone raves about but I can't see paying $60 extra for the two of us when the food we've already paid for is so good) is, I think, the Emerald Room.  I like the soft serve ice cream always being available, and the lemonade.

We don't have far to drive but we are still going to Canaveral the day before - one of the many advantages of retirement!  I don't think I would like 12 or 13 hours.  Are you drivivg down that day or are you coming early too?

I just looked at that Sur Mer??? It's on Veranda opposite side of the ship from Emerald Dining Room.  That used to be the second level for the Red Sail so I really don't know anything about that.  I didn't sail Glory last year but I did in 2007??

We are going to leave Fri about 4:00AM and will get in Fri night.  We are staying at Econo Lodge 5 min to port.  We have stayed there the last 4 times, but we leave the car at the port garage.

Well I am going to inquire about this Sur Mer and see if anyone knows anything.

Got it Fish N Chips, no extra charge and "Sur Mer" is french for on the sea.  Don't you love these message boards.  Anyway I still didn't know it was there.lol

Husband and I are also sailing on 9-12-09.  We live in East Tn-and also are driving-so maybe we could do a caravan :).

I also will be at the casino.  Blackjack is my game!

We usually leave about 4:40 am on Friday and get there early Friday evening so we are only minutes from the port in the morning.

Have you been on the Glory before?

No Blackjack for me, but I think I am going to try a little craps this time but mostly slots!!

Welcome CMC71 have you been on a cruise before??  Have you been on the Glory before?  I think you will enjoy this ship.. what age bracket are you?  They have teen get togethers too, just curious.  My grandson enjoyed the late night pizza parties with his age group and some dances they planned.

There are lots of activities for singles.  I have been on the Fantasy once, but this ship will make it look like a dingy. lol My older brother is 61 and he is traveling alone too, little too old for you.

I am traveling with a girlfriend from work, my husband won't cruise...sea sick.. oh well.

What deck are you on?  So far all of us are on Empress?
