My husband and I are going on this cruise as well. We are from Oklahoma. We have taken one cruise before on the Disney cruise line with our kids but this time we'll be cruising alone. We are trying to decide which excursions to take, looking at booking through cruise vs individually. I have found two options that are not with Carnival online both have great reviews on Travel Advisor and other cruise forums. They are both in Cozumel, however neither have enough to make an excursion yet. If you are intersted please check them out and maybe we can get enough together to get them to make an excursion. The first one is my top choice. It includes deep sea fishing, snorkeling, spinnaker rides weather permitting, a grilled meal, drinks including alcoholic for $80 per adult. It is a 6 hour trip and they would make sure we got back in time to leave port. http://www.cozumelsailing.com/ click on the Tucan Sailing Adventure.
The other is a very personalized three site snorkeling with water soft drinks and fruit and is $67 per person. The guide is highly recommended on all sites. You have to email her directly to get booked. www.islacozumel.com is the website and her email is kuda1@hotmail.com
Here is some info she sent me:
Weather permitting I take my guests to three different sites - each of them very beautiful in their own special way with unique formations and bottom composition. We stay at each site for at least 20 - 30 minutes. But, of course, if you are particularly enjoying one spot, we can be flexible - that’s what we mean by personalized. No "chop chop” everybody back in the boat on this tour!I like to take my guests to the south end of the Island, about a 30 - 40 minutes boat ride on a fast boat, or a big boat about 50-60 minutes, there are very beautiful reefs to explore. My snorkeling tour specializes in visiting the shallower sites (10-25-25 ft) so that you will see the coral formation and sea life clearly and from close up. 10 feet site, is mainly to get familiar with the use of the equipment and salt water, you will see some small coral heads and baby fishes, maybe some starfishes. ( about 15 - 20 minutes snorkeling)25 feet site, bigger coral heads, depends of the current ( 30- 40? minutes snorkeling )30 feet site, mountains of coral, drop off, and back to the shallow 25 feet max. ( 30- 40? minutes snorkeling). There are always currents off Cozumel but I am very experienced at reading these. If the drift is strong the day we go out, we float with the current while the boat follows us. But usually the current are moderate and not to worry about them. When we reach the end, the boat picks us up and can either take us back to the starting point for another trip through. Or we can move on to a different site. Whatever you desire.
In Progresso we were thinking about doing one of the tours through autoprogresso tours. Anyone have any other information about excursions?
