    Some Tips Regaring the Documents:

    - The important stuff is on Pages 1-3, 6 & 7

    - Page 7 is typically the luggage tags

    - Unless you have a color laser printer, you may want to print in B&W

    - If you forget to bring the luggage tags, the porters will have extras on hand at the port.

    - If you print the tags, a surefire way to ensure they keep is to use clear packing tape to cover the tag and secure it to your luggage.  This also keeps the tags weather proof

That's cool.  My husband and I are from NY, originally.  Long Island though, in our cases.

OK, documents are printed - passports are layed out - travel size shampoo's and conditioner purchased - all suitcases are accounted for. .....but yet the time isn't going any faster.  The work week seems longer for some reason.  HELP!

    Re: Roll call for 9/6/09!!!

Sounds like you're making progress, too.  Don't think we can help make the time go faster, but the anticipation is supposed to be part of the fun.  :P  I still have plenty to do before hand anyway, so I can't really wish the time away.

Friday night I'll be running trip related errands.  Shouldn't be too bad this time.  For the last trip which was unexpected and planned on short notice, I did much of the prep work for both in mind.  But things happen, like one of my main bags ripped at the end of the last cruise, so I need to replace that, plus I need to get a few things to replace certain clothing items that aren't going to work now, because I'm an undisciplined idiot.  :P  Ok, that isn't the whole problem, but I'm sure it was part of it.   lol  Definitely need more sunscreen and stuff like that.  Then the fun part of figuring out which dresses I'll be able to stuff into at this point and getting them & my husband's suit, etc. cleaned.

    Re: Roll call for 9/6/09!!!

Robin, don't worry too much about all that, the important thing that we are going to be on vacation and no matter what you wear I'm sure you are going to have a lot of fun...

A question for you or anybody that can answer, I chose the first dining option at 6pm but I've been reading mixed reviews about the flexible dining option. Has anybody experience this option? I always picked the late dining but because of my kids going with us for the first time I think the 8pm will be too late for them but at the same time the 6pm might be too early. As you can see a little confused, I'm not sure if I can change options in the middle of the cruise. Any suggestions!!!

    Re: Roll call for 9/6/09!!!

I worry now, so that I can relax later.  (Not that I said I was worried about that)  But anyway, a prepared vacationer makes for a happy one. :)

With kids you're probably right about the 6pm. Most people with children seem to love the early one.  (another plus for the late, for those who can wait)  In fact, most people I know who cruise choose the early one.  It felt odd how early they had to leave whatever we were doing to get ready!  I've heard a lot things about the flexible option not going too smoothly.  Probably because it's new for them.  I did it on Princess & Norwegian over 8 years ago.  Now that I've been choosing a time, I like the late dining, The timing works better for us.  I'm an extremely picky eater and this way I end up eating something probably in the late afternoon, so that if dinner doesn't look good for me, I can still go, give it a try and socialize, without starving, And of course, let my husband have a shot at trying some of the things they serve.  Last time I was surprised by how much I got into picking a dessert after dinner, too.    Also then, I could grab something afterwards if it didn't go too well and be ready for evening festivities.  It also gives me time to spend at the pool, in port etc. and relax without feeling as much rush to run to my room to shower, deal with my hair & dressed for the evening.  If I had children I'm sure I'd probably have to change this.  Although, if they were the sort of kids I was, they'd probably rather go play and eat pizza and burgers anyway.  :P

My husband and I are going to try the flexible option.  What are some of the problems? We usually choose 6:00.

    Re: Roll call for 9/6/09!!!

I never done the flexible option and it looks like a good idea but I've read some reviews that sometimes you have to wait to be seated and that you will not be seated with the same people every night and will have different servers vs having the same servers all week on the fixed 6pm or 8pm time.  I will like to have the option to try them both but I don't think that is an option.

Thanks Robin for your opinion, I think that looking at diffent menus that people have posted online, my kids will have to stuff on pizza before dinner because there is nothing in the menu that they will like...

    Re: Roll call for 9/6/09!!!

That's what I've read.  Wait times.  When I first booked it wasn't an option.  When I heard about the new flexible plan, I had considered it, but I decided that the scheduled time worked out pretty well on the last cruise and it had some advantages.  Plus there's that whole thing about different people to dine with and servers each night, which could be a good thing in some cases, but I felt it might lack some of the usual cruise charm.  Especially on dressier nights.  I can do that going out to dinner at home any night.  Not only that, but last time I found the routine to be kinda nice.  I was maybe a bit surprised that I did.  We'd dress for dinner, freshen up in the room and then go seek out night time activities.  I could do something different if I chose to, but I was liking it.  I think not paying for dinner in the traditional sense and knowing I can get whatever I want afterward if need be encourages me to order things I might not normally.  However, you may still see me in line next to your children eating pizza. :P

I've been dealing with a few more personal minor disasters.  Car repairs etc. and now my AC compressor flat out died after only 4 years and it's 90 degrees in my house, but I what I need for the trip aside from getting something taken in and some dry cleaning and I SO look forward to pretending this stuff doen't exist for a week while on board!  :D

    Re: Roll call for 9/6/09!!!

I also have a few things myself that I can't wait for this 17 days to go so we can go and relax on the cruise.  I need some help printing the documents, I read someone posted that they printed 7 pages with luggage tags but I can't find where to print that. I completed the pre-registration but all I get is one page with the Funpass info all completed but nothing else. Did you do this already? Can someone guide me to where this is?  Thanks,

By the way, I'm going to be on cabin 7269.

    Thanks,

    Maureen

    Robin;

I started reading all the previous post from you and found the one that you explained how to get the documents.  I guess that I missed that one before. Thanks, I will try it now.
