We made it back late Sunday night without any problems.  It sure was great meeting everyone and hopefully some day soon we will meet up once again.  We are already booking an Apr 5th 2010 cruise out of Florida for Spring Break.  Will be taking out 14 year old daughter again - it's on the Carnival Miracle and an 8-day cruise. An extra day - that's exciting.  Take care all and email anytime.

It was so nice meeting you.  I would like to keep in touch.  I haven't book a cruise yet.  But as soon as DH goes back to work that's the first thing I plan on doing.  I missed saying goodbye to everyone.  I over did it a little.  Next cruise will be more relaxing and less partying.

It was nice meeting everyone.  We got back Sunday early evening without issue.  And Today was a great day!  First day since Puerto Vallarta without waking up to MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE! (Started antibiotics on Monday after getting home) Note to all DO NOT EAT THE SALAD IN Mexico!  Had a great trip though and would do it again.  We are talking about our next cruise also.  We are thinking either Caribean or Hawaiian for the next one.  I would even consider taking this same cruise over.  After all I would like to see Mazatlan.

    Sorry you got sick JoeandJo...

I am looking at the webcam right now for the Splendor.  Earlier, it was raining and they had the roof on the Lido deck closed. It looks open right now, and the deck party is in full swing........... Tomorrow they will be in PV, and I hope none of them get sick!

    Re: Roll Call - Splendor - October 4, 2009 - 24 hours!

    Hello All,

Great cruise and it was so nice to meet everyone.  We especially enjoyed the cabin crawl and we can stop thinking about the suite we saw.  Very nice.  I am happy to report that we were quite pleased with the aft extended balony room we had and can highly recommend it for future cruisers.  It did seem to have more vibration and noice than other areas of the ship but it was an easy compromise to have the panoramic view off the back.  We did have some ash on our balcony on the last morning as if maybe they burned trash on the last night perhaps, but no big deal.

I came home with a sore throat and I am getting sicker by the minute.  We were very careful about handwashing and this may just be a coincidence to come home sick from a cruise, not sure.

One unexpected thing happened that everyone might like to hear about.  When my hubby called the Guest House Hotel to pick us up after debarkation, they could not get to us and told us to get a cab due to the Long Beach Marathon.  Tony took a cab back to the hotel but it took over an hour.  THEN, all the street were blocked off and he could not get back to get us.  YIKES!  We sat there for another 2 hours while he made his way back.  So we sat and watched everyone pack up and leave and all the happy people coming in so excited to be getting onboard the ship.  It was a great time to people watch and my granddaughter was so well behaved and patient. We were very cold and actually opened up our luggage right there on the concrete and added layers of clothing over the clothes we were wearing.  I am sure that must have been comical to watch but at least we were warmer.  We played cards and talked about the other things that could have gone wrong or how the people must be panicking who are trying to get to the ship and are being held up by the Long Beach Marathon and how that would be more frustrating.  I am happy to report that all family members took it in stride and we were finally on our way home by 1:00pm.

I still have not fully unpacked, made my bed or even cooked a meal and I may not for several more days.  Apple Valley is cold and raining and my bones ache for the warm Mexican weather.

We wish everyone good health, happy holidays and many more safe and enjoyable vacations.

     Take care everyone.

    Sandy

Hi Jo,  I was thinking mabe the Caribbean next year.  I'm finally getting my voice back and except for being very tired I feel great.  The swollen feet is something I will find out how to fix before the next cruise.  The Conquest out of Galveston is a good cruise.  Jamaica, Cozumel and Grand Cay

    Hi all,

What a trip! Great meeting you all!  We're back home safely also, completely burried at work!  Haven't even had time to check this board until this morning.  We had snow again yesterday... pretty hard to take after being on the beach last week.

Duane, glad to see you made it home safely.  But what weather to come home to !  To think this time last week I thought I would die from the heat.  Sure was glad to meet you and the family.  Even though we didn't spent a lot of time together it was nice just seeing you guys in passing.  When you get caught up and rested, would love to see pictures.  And please stay in touch.  I know it got a little ruff for you all.  Hope you don't give up on cruising.

Hi Jenn,  glad you're home safe and sound.  I don't know why the ankles swell.  It's water retention but don't know why. Salt air?  It did it to me on the Conquest also.  It wasn't just us ladies that it happened to.  A few guys I talk to had it also.  Mine came back to normal after 10 trips to the bathroom Sun. night and all day yesterday.  If you find out how to prevent it let me know.

Now that I'm home I'm getting names and faces confused.  Who was the very, very tall fella that I got my picture taken with by the rail?  The picture came out good and I bought it and should have a name to go with it.

HI Marlene.  I remember one picture I took with you down near the martini bar next to the disco bar.  I'm not very, very tall, only about 6' or so with gray hair.  I helped organize the cabn crawl.

Hope everone is doing fine.  Last week at this time we were eating lunch at Cabo Wabo and it was nice and hot out.  Now its chilly here in Ohio (only 45 degrees).  Oh well, guess its time for another cruise.

I am so glad that everyone had a great time, I know Lisa and myself had a great time meeting you all.  We had a great time with Duane, Marilyn and there kids in Maz, Tom, Marie, Wendy, Jen & Jim in Cabo and of course Marlene (sorry if I forgot someone, so many people so little time). I am sorry to hear that some of you have gotten back to some cold weather, however it is still around mid to high 80's or above hear in Tucson.  I am looking forward to seeing you all again.  Let's all keep in touch and maybe plan something in the future.
