Hello All,
Great cruise and it was so nice to meet everyone. We especially enjoyed the cabin crawl and we can stop thinking about the suite we saw. Very nice. I am happy to report that we were quite pleased with the aft extended balony room we had and can highly recommend it for future cruisers. It did seem to have more vibration and noice than other areas of the ship but it was an easy compromise to have the panoramic view off the back. We did have some ash on our balcony on the last morning as if maybe they burned trash on the last night perhaps, but no big deal.
I came home with a sore throat and I am getting sicker by the minute. We were very careful about handwashing and this may just be a coincidence to come home sick from a cruise, not sure.
One unexpected thing happened that everyone might like to hear about. When my hubby called the Guest House Hotel to pick us up after debarkation, they could not get to us and told us to get a cab due to the Long Beach Marathon. Tony took a cab back to the hotel but it took over an hour. THEN, all the street were blocked off and he could not get back to get us. YIKES! We sat there for another 2 hours while he made his way back. So we sat and watched everyone pack up and leave and all the happy people coming in so excited to be getting onboard the ship. It was a great time to people watch and my granddaughter was so well behaved and patient. We were very cold and actually opened up our luggage right there on the concrete and added layers of clothing over the clothes we were wearing. I am sure that must have been comical to watch but at least we were warmer. We played cards and talked about the other things that could have gone wrong or how the people must be panicking who are trying to get to the ship and are being held up by the Long Beach Marathon and how that would be more frustrating. I am happy to report that all family members took it in stride and we were finally on our way home by 1:00pm.
I still have not fully unpacked, made my bed or even cooked a meal and I may not for several more days. Apple Valley is cold and raining and my bones ache for the warm Mexican weather.
We wish everyone good health, happy holidays and many more safe and enjoyable vacations.
Take care everyone.
