security check in at new york pier

    HI

I am a first time cruiser and just wondering the security check for the cruise.

Are there sniffer dogs used when you go through security or do you go through metal detectors?

    just wondering?

    thanks

Here in Florida you go through metal detectors, exactly like the airports here....put your carry on stuff on the conveyor belt, and walk through the metal detector

Your stuff will be sniffed by dogs and xrayed before the luggage goes on the ship.  Hope that helps you some.

The dogs are behind the scenes and yes you have to go through the metal detectors.

hey susie, we went on the june 15 cruise out of NY. you give your luggage to the porters and they will put it "down the hatch" any dogs, x-rays ext will be there before their put to your room. When you go in the terminal itself. you will show your passport/id to the first guys, then you will go thru the metal detector with your stuff on the little belt that goes thru xray, then off you go to registering which they will direct you to the right line. which btw, we got there after 11am and they started boarding at 12 noon, we were on the ship by 1. and lucked out as our luggage was at our room when we went just after 130 :) have a great cruise :)

Note to self:   Pack doggie biscuits in luggage for the dogs.

Hay, the dogs deserve a nice "tip" just like every other hard worker at the port.

Hi. I'm John McGuirk, and I am a professional soccer coach at the elementary school level. The kind of woman I'm interested in is the type that is still watching this tape. I also have a very nice car, although technically I don't have legal access to it at this time.

i was also wondering if the ship is real strict about bringing outsiders on the ship, if you want to bring one of the local "ladies of pleasure" onto the ship for a quick go, if u know what i mean Wink, would this be a big deal?

Perry: I'm awake. Are you watching me sleep, Walter?
Walter: Yes. You're beautiful when you sleep.
    Perry: Watch me now.
    Walter: Okay. Shut your eyes.
    Perry: I shut my eyes.
Walter: Oh my god. It's beautiful.

No guests, including professional guests, are allowed on board the ship.  There are plenty of security officers, and others, at the NY Port to enforce it strictly.

Though, if you planned ahead, why not get them a ticket?   Adding a third person, to your cabin, would not add considerably to the overall cost.

Hey Walt...how in the WORLD do you think some of your answers up???    I would have NEVER thought to include "a date" as the third person! When I asked my husband, he liked the idea...until I started to describe THE GUY I wanted to add to our cabin!!!   Wink    He was NOT amused!!!

Did you explain that this would make it an even more enjoyable vacation for him, since the "date" would fill in for all his husbandly duties.   While your husband hug out in the sports bar enjoying himself, the "date" could get dressed up in a stuffy suit and tie, and sit through a long, boring, dinner in the Supper Club.

Hay, it is worth a shot.  Wink

tx for the reply walt, but i was more referring to bringing aboard a local "lady of pleasure" from my carribean stop, you know just bringing her on board for the afternoon for a quick romp if you, if you what i mean Wink, before the ship sets sail again at the end of the day.

Perry: I'm awake. Are you watching me sleep, Walter?
Walter: Yes. You're beautiful when you sleep.
    Perry: Watch me now.
    Walter: Okay. Shut your eyes.

Sorry, the only way non-guest are allowed on the ship is if they are attending a wedding that is conducted in the home port, several hours before the cruise leaves.Otherwise, it's not going to happen.  IF you want to take a romp with a new friend in one of the ports, you'll have to do it in port, perhaps her place or a local hotel.
