Hello Michiganders.
Just wanted to talk with you about a Balcony, and to let you know a few ways to save a dollar or two. First, is the quote you were give a selected balcony or a Balcony Guarantee? And where are you getting your quotes from Carnival web sight, your TA, or CVP? I have learned that if I call Carnival the price is always better, than on there web sight. Second, instead of calling, I check Travelocity, for the same cruise, and Travelocity's price is only $20.00 more than the quote Carnival offers over the phone.
That's unless you are a Veteran and that price differs by $500 per Cruise sometimes. If you are, or your significant other is a Vet, you will have to call to get a quote. But if not, like I said use Travelocity, and - $20 and it will give a pretty close price to what Carnivals Vacation Planners quote you. TIP!!!!
I do not know if you have a quote for a selected cabin, or a BG (balcony guarantee). The reason is, sometimes you get a better price for going with a BG, than having a selected balcony. We have done two BG, and have done two selected cabins. I do recommend them, if you do not mind what cabin you want to stay in, and carnival puts you in one. Just for example we were on Conquest for our First Cruise and were put on Deck 10 port forward. Than our second cruise, deck 7.
For my self, a cabin is the only way to go, but you will have to experience it on you own, but here some example of what I am talking about. Hearing the ocean go by and night and put you to sleep. Waking up at you next port of call, walking out in your Birthday suit, and watching the sun come up, and watching it go down. Being able to relax outside with out taking stairs or an elevator. Only having to walk 10 feet, and relax on your private balcony sitting in a chair while you wife gets ready, changing into 5 different things before making up your mind before the elegant evening. Than afterwards, sipping wine at night on your deck chair, and feeling the warm Caribbean air go by, knowing you're making a special moment.
We normally fly out of South Bend or Chicago. But like South Bend a lot better do to less traffic, drive time, and smaller airport, and it only cost us about the same as or up to $50 dollars more per person.
