    Drink tickets and nightlife

Does it pay off in the end to have drink tickets? I saw the grat is already included. Does it help to tip a buck or so if you order something more than the 5.25 limit? also, Im book on the pride...What nightlife is there? Is there a club or just the underage clubs?

    thanks!

Drink tickets are not worth it IMHO.  If you drink beer it is less expensive to purchase bucket s then use drink tickets.  If your drink is more then the 5.25 then you have to pay the difference any way.

You can get most of your questions answered in the FAQ's on the Carnival web site or at seauonboard.com.

also, look at it this way, if you purchase the drink tickets you have prepaid part of your vacation. now my friend drinks coors, so the cost w/tip is $4.50 (according to that list) so she would spend 75cents more if she got tickets. i drink jack and coke, $7.00, so i would have $1.75 added to my sail and sign. but which would you rather have. a 300 dollar tab at the end of the cruise, or 100.00?? if you wish to look at it that way.

there are clubs for the adults. thats why they made the underage clubs so they have their own space.

What difference does it make if you buy tickets in advance and have a lower S&S account or you put the same dollars on your S&S card with out the drink tickets.

    Re: Drink tickets and nightlife

look at it this way lwolfson. my friend and i went for 8 days to florida. i prepaid for all the park tickets, prepaid for the 3 dinner shows we went to. prepaid for the hotel except for the taxes. the only thing that wasn't prepaid was the car rental, the taxes on hotel, and spending money. so when i came home, i didnt have a big credit card bill. now if i hadnt of done that. iwould have paid for 5 days of parks at approx 75 a day. 3 dinner shows at approx 50 bucks a piece. then our spending money.

thats why i said, sometimes it just pays off to prepay as much as you can that you know your going to use.

I agree with you about paying things ahead but the total spent is the same just that a lot of the spend was done before the vacation.  Remember the vacation cost is the sum of the prepaid expenses and the money spent on the vacation.

The only time I allow folks to hold my money in advance of their performance is if they give me something for it like a discount etc.  Otherwise I pay for it when i do it.

Money is to valuable to let someone else hold it and use it for nothing.  I usually plan my taxes so as to have to pay a little bit each year rather then getting a tax refund which is really the repayment of a loan to the government and without collecting interest.

I agree with you I thinks its more a mental thing Yes You pay the same either way but this way you know in advance the price you dont have to budget for this and that and you can pay cash before (hotel and stuff) this way your CC stays clear for emergency's!!! and any extras!

So does carnival give you an extra discount for paying for your cruise in advance of their perfomance instead of after you're on the ship? If so, I've been getting a bad deal.Wink

Btw, what's up with telling everyone that asks a question that their questions could be answered by reading the FAQs, and that it should be required reading before posting a question? You know alot of people don't know about FAQs,or were to find them, and the ones that are in the brochure dosn't come until 30 days before your cruise.

There are people here that think you give good info and I find it sad that you think their questions are beneath you. But I also find it interesting ,that it is not beneath you to post snide, condescending replies to simple questions that you could just as well not respond to. If you feel they are not worthy of a kind answer, why waste your time with snideness?

You think that FAQs should be required reading before being allowed to post questions?

I think that common sense should be required before being allowed to answer to them.

I read the FAQ's and I have asked my PVP. But what you read is not necessarily what information you are going to take away with you. Many of the new cruisers are looking for some type of connection (me included) that this board provides. Yes the same questions are asked over and over again at some point, but it isn't that easy to find the information in the various opportunities for posting questions.

    4bolts,

I agree with you re: the connection from being on the cruise talk forums.  I know that I do not have to explain what I do and why with my posts.  The reason I direct folks to the FAQ's and The know before you go and Cheryl's web site seauonboard is because they answer most peoples questions correctly and according to Carnival's policies.  A lot of the answers given here are either totally incorrect or poor destortions of the facts like ages and smuggling alcohol etc.  When a specific question is asked I usually answer it from the FAQ's and then direct the person there.  If there is no specific question asked, that happens a lot, I just direct them there because I do not know what they need or want to know.I understand that a lot of people do not know about them or where they are so I usually try and include the URL of where they are found.

Here is a sample of some of the things that are available on the Carnvial web site. So rather then give opinions, which arelike noses, I prefer to post facts unless opinions are requested.
