Only 80 days for me seeing as I fly down to Orlando the day before the cruise.

We too are arriving on the 23rd!  Gonna drive down to the port area and stay in the Hampton Inn for the night!  WOOHOO!!!

Are you cruising alone?  Our next door neighbors are going too!

We are getting closer and closer! I want to start packing! (oopps) I already have! lol 80 days!

Tammy,  No, not cruising alone, going to meet my friend and her son at Orlando Airport and spend the night at Springhill Hotel and Suites by the airport.  Saturday morning using Lauras Shuttle to take us to Port Canaveral.  Got such a great deal with them....especially because I was the 10th customer to make arrangements...seems that they have a policy that every 10th reservation the customer pays only $30 for their group for transportation.  We will have 3 people....hmmm, only $10 per person...I think its a great deal.  Have  you guys been on the Glory before?  I only ask because this will be my 3rd time on the Glory.  I like the ship, big but not too big.  Have found the food in the main dining room to be good.  We are planning to have dinner one night in the Supper Club.  I have eaten in the supper clubs twice before when I cruised with my daughter, but she won't be with me on this cruise.  She will be a sophomore in college so classes come first.

Has anyone in this group thought about getting together during the cruise....maybe a couple of time?  Especially during the departure...you know, that can be so much fun....as Kenny Chesney sings in a song, "with a drink in my hand...and lots of tomorrows, not shoes, no shirt, no problem"?  Sounds like a good soundtrack for our cruise.....anybody have thoughts on this?  Come on guys, we are gonna have one big party....shoes or no shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife was wondering if we should bring our own Shampoo & conditioner or do they provide ample for you?

being a female.... YES! She would want her own shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo and conditioner on the ship is ok but not great. I pack myown.

Hey Y'all!  Welcome to the cruise!!  I use the ships shampoo, but they do not provide conditioner.  Just body wash & shampoo.  I believe the body wash is Lever 2000 and the shampoo is Suave. 

I'm pullin' out the suitcases this weekend....LOL...WOOHOOOOO!!!!

With me being a guy, you know we never get out suitcases out until the day before the cruise....at least I never have......hahahaha!  So, do you think it might be a good idea for us to meet somewhere on the ship during departure?  That way we could meet each other....for those who might choose to do so, plus we could do this while having a drink  I am sure most of us drink the "good stuff"....at least even a teeny weeny bit of it.

I hear ya...actually, as much as I'd like to start packing....I don't have room to put out the suitcases....they'd be in the way of our weekly poker game...LOL  I just realized that this weekend....I could put them out in the spare room upstairs...but then I'd have to drag em' downstairs when we were ready to go...lol...I guess I'll wait until the week before.....**sigh**

 I would enjoy meeting with everyone!  The last cruise we were on, the people on cruise critic set up a meeting....in one of the bars , that included the cruise director...he asked us questions about cruise related things and gave out prizes...everyone got something!  It was pretty cool.  I don't know if anyone has plans to do that on this cruise....or even how to go about getting the ball rolling.  

Texas Blue,  Get the ball rolling?  As in like the balls rolling on your countdown?

I sailed the Glory back in May this year and a bunch of us simply decided when and where to have at least an introductory get together.  If we wanted to do this, we could probably arrange this on our own and anyone on this forum, or even the Cruise Critic Forum could meet with us too you know.  Sound like a possibility to you or anyone else reading this?

Well we went out today and bought our luggage and we are ready to go. Wife was also asking about the pillows. How are they? Do you bring your own?

Their wording is "high-quality linens and pillows in each stateroom."

Wess,   I certainly am not the expert about this subject, but I found the pillows to be comfortable.  Since Carnival upgraded their bedding....mattresses, linens and pillows back in 2005 or 2006, they have been really nice.  You are gonna have one great cruise!  Any idea what you guys are gonna do on the different islands?  We are going to visit different beaches....that way can have more time at places we want to visit and usually is cheaper to do it that way.  Also, just leave enough time to return to the ship without being left behind.

Rob, we have no idea. My wife and I are just going back and forth with so many ideas from snorkeling, the dolphin excursion, para sailing, the sea turtles and so many others. We are going to be exhausted when this is all over. I guess it’s a good thing that it is a two day ride back to port Canaveral.
