Thank you very much for your replies, so as we get closed to the sailing date, we can set something up to meet and celebrate , probably by that time there will be more people on the forum, what do you think?

I'm so excited that I can't wait.  I think that I read that somebody already booked the Tequila tour.  That might be one of the tours that I will take.  I'm not planning on taking too many tours, because I would like to relax a little bit more in this cruise and enjoy their activities.  Last year, I took the RCC Mediterranean Cruise and it was very nice, but we had a tour every single day and some days two tours and I finished very exhausted and I don't want to do that again.  I want to have fun and relax by the pool , some spa treatment.  I'm looking forward meeting you guys.

It's nice to see that clock count down to our sailing day, 126 days!  How many people are in your group?  I know that Missybee and her husband are also from Canada and I think there are 2 couples joining them.  Luvcruising are another couple from Michigan and my friend that is joining me is coming from Puerto Rico.  So I believe that so far we are about 12 people in this forum, so it's a good crowd, so far.  I'm sure there will be more people as we get closed to sailing date.

Are you arriving in LA the sailing date or before?

 Thanks for the link---and yes, it's going to get more exciting as we get closer to the sailing date. I'm starting to think more and more about (A) Shore excursions and (B) the Spa packages. I read the Capers for our cruise here on this forum and I think it's neat how you can combine three different spa treatments for one price, ie: 25 minute massage, mini-pedicure and a facial for around 99.00. If they're still offering that in November, I am definately interested. I got a bit seasick a couple of days into our first cruise this past October and had to get some Dramamine (hope I spelled that correctly---it's called "Gravol" in Canada)--even though we had the "patch". My aunt swears by the cloth wristbands so I will bring those as well. I'm rambling on because I'm so looking forward to this cruise; can't wait to meet you and the other folks on this thread.

Ginnkam, I was actually quite impressed with your Roughriders win over us last weekend by ONE point...and at the last minute. (I'm not really much of a sports buff, but I love the way your fans dress up with football helmets made out of watermelons and everything--they are so dedicated and hilarious! It will be great to have a drink with you guys. Have you decided on shore excursions yet?

Yes getting closer and getting excited here too....especially considering our cold summer this year...I think we will really need a winter break!  

Missybee I did have an extra loud green Rider cheer that game...thinking about you! LOL!  Wasn't wearing the watermelon though! LOL!  Yes and definetely we will have to get together for a drink on board.  As for shore excursions we are pondering a few but haven't decided for sure.  Also was looking at the spa too!  We did book a supper club supper for one night so that we can celebrate our 10 year anniversary in style.

 I'm amazed at two things---first, that you weren't wearing a watermelon helmet during that Stamps/Riders game, and secondly, that you were actually able to book a supper club reservation four months before the cruise---I didn't know that was possible! I guess you did that online---I wonder if the Spa can be booked ahead of time as well....perhaps I should look more closely into the Carnival website instead of clicking straight to the "Online Community" like I always do.

This is going to be the best cruise EVER.

Nice to hear from you. Now we are down to 111 days before sailing, how exciting!  I just booked one of the tequila tours, I hope that I picked a fun one with fun people to have a good time, because they have different hours on this tour.

We are at the first seating, how about you?  Since this is my first time with Carnival, I'm not familiar with thier itinerary in terms of formal nights or theme nights etc. and I have not find anything on their website for our sailing, do you happen to know anything about it?

Cold summer I'm jealous! We have been about the 110 degrees,  can't wait for the cruise to take a break from this heat!

 How nice to hear from you!

I'm not sure, but I believe that there are two formal nights on a 7-day cruise; I heard something about which two days these are but I can't remember. On our 5-day cruise on the Paradise, there was one formal night, and I remember it being on a "fun day at sea" if I recall correctly. (I was mortified because I didn't dress up---this time, I have a couple of nice cocktail dresses, and I will not leave home without them!!) DH has a nice suit also.

 I see that the temperature where you are was 110 recently! And to think that I felt all wilted when our thermometer climbed to 88! I even went outside and sprayed myself with the garden hose---and it's not even humid here!

Can't wait to meet you Amy---we are going to be at the first dinner seating, but there are two formal dining rooms, so we're going to have to meet for a B-Day drink first, which we can arrange as the cruise gets closer.

Wouldn't it be funny if we were at the same table??

Hello Amy!  I don't know if you would be jealous considering we are around -30C all winter...summer is our only break and it really *** this year! LOL!  Yes and thanks for the anniversary congrats.  This should be a great cruise...and it will sure be nice to have a few people to talk to on board...last time we didn't know anyone...still had fun...but this should be much better!

Hello Missybee, we are booked on the early dining too...I know that you can request to have groups of people sit together...if you guys are wanting we can look at meeting on day 1 and talking to the maitre-di (please excuse my spelling) and see if we can arrange to sit together or close by.  Would be fun that's for sure.  Amy you too of course!  I know we will be early on the day of the cruise as we are staying at the Best Western nearby and have to check out by noon!

 I hear you, because I enjoy the cold weather just for vacations then back to my warm home  We have few extremely hot months, but the rest of the year is paradise

I know this is going to be a fun cruise.  I'm looking forward meeting you all.  I will be in CA few days before the sailing day.  We should check in the cruise after 2:00 pm.  But as we we closer the sailing day we can set up a time to meet in one of the bars/Lounge.

Sorry it take me some time to get back to you, but I have been working late and by the time I get home I'm done.  I'm ready for vacation. 

Yes, it has been pretty hot lately, but few more months and then we wll enjoy our fabulous weather. 

 Ok, so it's pretty standad the formal nights like in the other cruise lines.  On the cruise that i took last year, was during Halloween and we took our customs and had a lot of fun.  Other cruise line have some theme nights and I usually take what ever I can use to enjoy the celebration.  Even if the Splendor doesn't have a theme night we already have our celebrations planned, right?  We will have a great time!

It will be fun if we end on the same table.  As we get closer to the sailing day we can set up a time and a bar/Lounge to meet.

I'm planning to be in CA few days before sailing day and on that day since it's my B-Day, I will take advantage of the Disney parks and enter the park for free.  So, we should be in the port after 2:00 pm.. ust 109 days before we  meet, I'm so excited that I can't wait.

It's starting to come together for us all meeting for a drink or two--- how exciting!! After that, we can arrange our dinner seating together, or at least close to each other if possible.

Ginnette, you were talking about how cold it gets in the winter in Saskatchewan where you live---I used to live there too!! You are right about the deep freeze this past winter---one evening, I stepped outside my back door and tossed the contents of a glass of water into the air. The water turned into ice before it hit the ground. Was that ever an amazing--(and depressing)---science project.

I may have to jump ship in Cabo and stay there for good!! <jk>

I have to mention that I was in Disneyland with my sister, her hubby and their two kids this June. Her husband's birthday was on one of the days that we were there. He did indeed get free admission to Disneyland that day, and they gave him a special badge and all the staff said "happy birthday" to him wherever he went. I thought of the free admission for my DH as we will be checking out of our hotel near Disneyland on November 29th--(his, and your, birthdays)---and taking a cab to Long Beach to board the Splendor, but I thought the time would be too tight as we want to be in line for early boarding by about 10:00 AM.

What are your plans for time of arrival at the ship on your B-Day? Let me know;
