Actually our friend is a travel agent and she suggested we try Carnival Criuse and the price was right.  I hesitate because i always heard Carnival was a party ship and usually has a lot of kids on the ship.  Not that i don't like kids i have 5 grandchildren of my own.  My husband and i really need a break and i was hoping for a little peice and quite for a week.

 I also have been watching the reviews and the food/dining has not had very high reviews. 

The ship is so big even with children on board you really don't notice much, and keep in mind everyone has different taste in food. We may not have liked everything we had on our last cruise but with so many options we always found something we enjoyed very much.

We are going.Three women ages 48 and 50.

I can't wait to get on that ship, but there is just so much to do from now to then.  Anyone watching the weather forecast and if so what is it like?

I checked in early on in this thread, but I'll check in again! I'm taking my 18 year old daughter on her first cruise for a combo birthday/graduation present. It's a surprise for her. She knows we're going on vacation, but no idea how or where.

We visited Tulum last year it was beautiful. You will have a great time, wait till you see the beach behind the ruins its wonderful.

Dunn river falls is great but be prepared for the crowds going up the falls, and make sure when you pass the locals trying to give you beaded necklaces and such that they expect a donation. They can be very pushy but unless you want  to buy something just walk quick and say a polite no.
