Jonvonage, we are staying at Pier 66, less than 1 mile from cruise port.

    Mark:

Say I was curious more about this hotel you mentioned (ie website address). Basically I decided to skip trying and trying with the likes of Expedia, Travelocity and priceline to find a hotel on the beach in ft lauderdale and venture instead here at Carnival to ask fellow Cranival cruisers such as yourself. Ideally Id like to find a hotel on the beach (which would be likewise close to the port facilities on Eller street) with shuttle service to/from the port facilities and the airports.

Again appreciate any feedback you can provide

whats meant by a 'signature ' anyways?

was searching on Expedia and came across this Pier 66 and was wondering if you could give a ringing endorsement. Also as Im aware that this is beachfront hotel, am wondering about the transportation logistics...namely taxi to and from hotel and port everglades. Again any feedback would be most appreciative.

The Sheraton Yankee Clipper is a good choice.  It has a private beach and pool.  We usually stay there prior to cruising.  Good food there and not far from shopping and other places to eat.

Im looking for a hotel for Feb 20th.. It doesnt have to be beautiful just a decent place to lay our heads before the cruise. I call and they say $169 and up. Hmmm seems steep when thier ad says $79 but its because im not a veteren they said. Well does anyone have any other ideas? Looking for cheap. Theres 10 of us so we need a few rooms. Thanks

We always stay at the Springhill Suites in Dania.  I have heard they have rates as low as $89.00 per night for a suite like room.  They also have a hot breakfast, parking for your car during the cruise & and shuttle to the ship included at no extra cost.  We use our Marriott points when we stay there.  You may want to book early to get a good rate and then keep checking back in case of price drops.  The best rates are founf at www.marriott.com.

    Have a great cruise.

    Hi Tekel,

We just got back from our cruise and we stayed at SpringHill Suites in Dania. The hotel is not on the beach but it is very reasonable. Less than $100 per night including tax. It is clean and they will pick you up from FLL airport for free and drop you off at Port Everglades for free. They also have a hot breakfast included with your stay. A Burger King is next door and several places will also deliver food to the hotel. They have a pool also.

    Wendy,

You will find that depending on the time of year you travel in Fla there will be a big difference in the price of hotel rooms.   During the winter months the price is much higher because that is Fla.  busy season.
