    Catherine:

Jan 1 of this year....no more smoking on Carnival ships.

This is not true, I just returned today from my Carnival cruise.

SuzyQ - Thanks!  Cognac for $89?  You got a good deal there!   I hope I can find good deals like that!  Are you only allowed one carton per adult?

    SuzyQ:
    t24021994:

SuzyQ - How much are the cigarettes on the ship?  Thanks.

They do have specials and like someone said they bought 2 cartons for $44.00.  A darn good deal too if they carry your brand.  You will be surprised at some of the prices in that Duty Free Shop.  I bought our son over a $200 bottle of Cognac for $89.  He sure was happy....Wink

You know Catherine, I hate it to and can't wait until the day I can quit. I am now down to 5 a day unless I am under a lot of stress. ( patting myself on the back ) Now if I can get rid of the five I will be a happy Camper/Cruiser. The only time I smoke is at night time when I get home and the funny thing about it is I only smoke about 3 a day when I am on a cruise. I think my trigger is stress which proves Cruising is Stress Free Big Smile

I quit 6 years ago, so I know how hard it is to quit.  Once you do it you will feel great! Good luck...Once you make the choice to quit stick to it...give it all up...don't even have one a day. Trust me in life you always have stress, try chewing gum or putting a hard candy in your mouth instead of smoking.

Catherine is right.  Cigarettes are an all or nothing kind of thing, at least it was for me.

Thanks Cath, That's just what I have been doing and also drinking lot's of water. One thing also. The craving for a cigatette only last five minutes. Now if I can only remember that. I quit before and I will do it again and remain smoke free. I sure did feel better Smile

     LuvMyPride,

If I could do it, so can you.

Over twenty five years ago, I told my wife that if she would quit, I would quit. She smoked about half a pack a day. I was smoking over three packs a day.

One day she decided. Quit cold turkey. We have not touched a cigarette since that day over twenty five years ago. I chewed a lot of gum and drank a lot of water. And once in a while I still get a craving, But I know that if I ever picked up another cigarette, I would start again and I refuse to do that.

So, come on, lets see you do it! Like I said, if we could do it, so can you!

I have also been working on my book that I almost forgot about because of my Addiction to Cruising LOL. I was doing ok until last night. We had four Earth Quakes last night so I didn't get any sleep. So outside of being sleepy and being a little shook up, I am doing good Smile Right Hug I think I need a drink and I don't mean a non alcoholic drink LOL One MonkeyHead with stright brandy please

Thank you so much Frank, What wonderful support I am getting here. I can and I will quit Big Smile. One thing that really get's my goat is the government is trying to stop drug dealers, but yet they allow something that kills so many people every year to be sold. Hum. Looks like we have another drug dealer on our hands. I wish they would just stop making cigaretts.

Pam  The government is already too involved in our lives.  They tried that with prohibition and it didn't work then either.  Quitting is something only you can do.  My husband smoked Camels and quit over 30 years ago, cold turkey.  I know you can do it.

So true, and I will overcome this nasty habit Smile. But I feel if they can't do there job right maybe we don't need a government. I think it's a money thing. It's always about money with them. So sad. If they can put a man on the moon they can stop the sale of these killers. Thanks Joan for your support, I am so greatful for all you wonderful friends Big Smile

Pam   I know you can do it.  Almost every member of our family has quit.  We also battle fat, which I see you don't have a problem with.  Good Luck, you can do it.
