Good idea to stay away from the beaches. St Maarten offers an Adventure Snuba & Snorkel that sounds like a great idea for a 14 year old.

Wow, your mom has more gumption then we do. We're just thinking of Shipwreckk Cove (snorkling) with beach and shopping. It's not the being in the air that concerns me, it's the taking off and coming down that makes my bones ache just thinking about it.

    Hi there,

now I am ready with my shore excursion plans for now ....I think....On the island St. Maarten I will go for the "Americas Cup Regatta", I love sailing. After that I will absolutely go to the Airport to see big planes go down some feet over my head (=> you have to check that on youtube....wow!!) There´s  a good bar where to get some cold drinks and watch. Anyone interessted, please join me!! Will be hilarious!!

St. Kitts is the right place to do the "Sky Safari (Canope)" I guess!? I wanted to do that excursion for the last years, but neve did, so this year I will go for it. Flying over the rainforest, sounds good, doesn´t it?

Well I am not totaly sure what to do on St. Lucia. I thought aout going on the "Catamaran Sail to the Pitons". Maybe I will go on a horseback rise!? Can´t decide yet.

Well folks, it´s getting serious, 3 month and 1 day.....!!!!!

    Hey Darlene!!!

Parasailing will be an experience!!  I have contacted a place that is about 5 minutes from the dock, or so they say.  Also, mom just announced that she is OFFICIALLY retiring, the last day of September!!  I guess we will also be celebrating her retirement!!!  She is getting quite excited now, as in the past when we cruised, she always has to worry about how the place would run in her absence, and if the help would actually show up.  This will be the first, (hopefully, of many), cruises/vacations that she has been able to go on, completely WORRY FREE!!!  I plan to make this the BEST cruise she has ever had!!!

To join the Monkeyhead club, just go on the Monkeyhead forum and take the oath.  I was just introduced to this club this last January, and am booked for the Dream cruise with them, this next January.

     Talk to everyone soon!!!

I am happy about our more and mory busy getting thread now. It´s alive and full of excitement for our trip, that´s fine :)

Have a good start into the new week,

    Nadine

Ok, we have less than 90 days until we sail!! It sounds like parasailing is a blast and I would be more than happy to go with you. Which brings me to my next question, I noticed that there is not a lot of shore excursions offered on the website. Actually, it depends where you look. I think the ones on the personal page is for the actual time we sail. Whereas, if I click on the port link, I am taken to all existing excursions. I am not really seeing anything I would enjoy signing up for online (I don't see parasailing and wonder if I am looking in the wrong place?) Do they offer more excursions once we are on board? I would like to know what other's do about booking their excursions for the cruise. Thanks so much!!! Denise

Hey Guys, It's Getting Closer!!!  I haven't been following very closely lately, been working a lot of hours.  I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on where to stay near the port in Ft. Lauderdale.  Mom and I want to drive down the night before, so we won't be so rushed the day we leave.  Please post any suggestions you have, as we normally sail out of Tampa or Port Canaveral.

Thanks and see you all soon!!!

     Kaye and Mom

PS....Soon to be RETIRED and VACATIONING MOM!!!  Bring on the CHAMPAGNE!!!

I will fly into Miami on sunday and  on tuesday I will go to Fort Lauderdale. I will perhaps stay in the La Quinta Inn near Sawgrass Mills cause I would like to do some shopping the whole day.

After checkin all the message boards on here we have decided to stay at the Springhill Suites in Dania Beach.  I booked through Orbitz and got a rate of $134.00 for a suite with 1 king bed , sofabed, refridgerator, microwave, Internet acces and sitting area.  They offer free parking and free shuttle service to and from the Port and Airport.  The hotel received great reviews and looked nice and clean.  We will be arriving in Ft. Lauderdale on Tuesday morning and hope to see a bit of the local attractions before heading to the ship.

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009

Hi all, I just noticed that it is only 53 day till we cruise. I am sooooo excited to have a wonderful cruise and 2 wonderful weeks off from work. I am also so excited to share this experience with my niece and her boyfriend something they will always remember I still remember all of our Cruises like it was yesterday. My guest bedroom has now became my cruise room staging clothes and items that I want to bring with us. It takes a Pro Packer to pack all you need in as few bags as possible with as little wrinkling as possible. And of course the nice dresses I wore last year no longer fit so I had to buy a few new ones. We live in the North Carolina Mountains and now it is getting fall weather and bathing suit have been gone for awhile oh well I will Make due with what I found. I look forward to meeting you all on board for a drink or 2. We met friends on here last year before our cruise that we stay in touch with we had a blast hanging out with them one of them my friend Ester even taught me to play Black Jack it was great. I did win 625.00 on a quarter slot machine for me that was pretty exciting because I normally just sit and feed those hungry machines. We have not finalized any shore excursions but are planing on St Martin to go to Ship Wreck cove and beach tour. We will be arriving Tuesday night in Ft Lauderdale no plans yet to where we will stay but we will be on board as soon as they let us and LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!!!!. Well I will leave you for now. Pam
