Hi Everyone!!!  Happy early 50th. Birthday Denise!!!  My mother and I will have to buy you a birthday drink when we get on board!!!  We cruise often, but have never been to the Eastern/Southern Carribbean and appreciate reading what the must sees are.  I don't even have a clue yet as to what we will do, but I know it will be FUN!!!  Hope more people join this thread!!!  It always builds the excitement up even more for me to chat with people before we cruise, and it's really nice expecting to meet some people right away!!!  As for singles Denise, they always have a Singles Meet on the first night, look in the Carnival Capers for the location and time.  I went on my last cruise in January, all by myself to just chill out.  I had planned on going to all of the singles events, meet new singles and have a great time.  However, destiny had another plan!!  I had met a gentleman on the thread for the cruise, and after we boarded, we met, had a drink, and spent the entire cruise doing things together!!  It was amazing!!!  We are now engaged and he is the most wonderful man I could have ever hoped to meet!!  So Denise, you never know who you will meet!!!!  Talk to you all soon!!!  Kaye

greetings again, Our first trip in '93 was with Princess on the original Crown and I guess that made Princess feel like home. Truth be told we were trying to book a ten day on the Ruby Princess but all the balcony rooms were waitlisted, also Pam's niece wanted to go and third person rates were quite a bit higher on Princess. This cruise goes to the general area though with fewer stops and more sea time, still I'm sure we'll have a fine time as we were satisfied last trip. Maybe we can do that one next year. Princess is a bit dressier then Carnival I guess it's still less family oriented although I believe changes are in the works. See you all not soon enough to suit us

You have been cruising for sometime now and that tells me you like it a lot! Do your princess cruise count towards your carnival cruise status?

OH yes, very much enjoy the cruises. Long ago, or it may just seem like that, I loved road trips. Stopping in small towns, eating at local diners etc. Now half hour in the car and I'm sound asleep. On the cruse you get there, you settle in and there you stay but, the whole time you are actually going somewhere else. How can you possibly beat that combination. a As to cruise credit, as far as I know even though Princess and Carnival are cousins by merger no crossover exists about status.

     Denise,

welcome to our thread. What a great idea to celebrate your milestone birthday on the Miracle. Please feel invited to have delicious drink at a bar of your choice :) I am sure you will have an awesome cruise and get  to know lots of kind and nice people. So you are cruising on your own?! I am also a single/solo cruiser for the third time and I love it!! The single meet and greet is a great idea and opportunity to get in contact with other people. The last to cruises I had great luck with my dinner mates and it was great fun during the dinner. Don´t forget eating with all the laughter!

Looking forward to meet you all !!!!!

    109 days to go folks,

Soon it will be time to pull out the cruise attire and see which of them have mysteriously shrunken. Strange how things rarely worn can do this. We will begin the search for Pams perfect bathing suit tonight. In retail stores here, summer is all but over and fall must be arriving tomorrow. We are getting past being ready to go, in fact I am already scouting for next years cruise. You can't be more ready then that.

    Hi all,

107 days left to wait we still have a vacation to take in August not going anywhere great just visiting family and maybe getting organized for the cruise.

I went shopping for a new bathing suit hoping I would get a great deal since We live in the mountain and summer is close to being over unfortunatly they were all gone so now I have to find one on the internet I Love JCPenney.com

I Look forward to meeting everyone.

So far we have only made 1 decision on excursions in St.Martin  we want to do .  Catamaran Boat ride to shipwreck cove to the Beach and shopping. But it is getting time to get more serious about the tours and pick tours for the other islands.

I hope to hear from u all again soon.

    Pam

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009 ~

Hello Everybody... As of Sunday, July 26, 2009 we only have 101 days to go! While, I have not done it yet... I have found that it's best to book excursions before you get on the ship. So, I would like to take a poll on what everyone has signed up to do during the cruse, or do you even do excursions? Ready....set......go..... Denise

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009 ~

We have finally made it to double digits.  99 and counting WOOOOOHOOOOOO can't wait.  I am looking forward to sitting on the Lido deck with a nice cold drink and soaking up those southern caribbean rays.  Monkeyheads here I come.

What excursions has everyone chosen? We are driving down to the port and are looking for a nice close hotel with inexpensive long term parking and shuttle service, anyone have suggestions?

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009

We traveled to St Lucia before and did the Land and Sea combo to Soufriere excursion.  We did this excursion and had a wonderful time even in the pouring rain.  Your board a very comfortable coach bus and travel across the island stopping in a small fishing village and then on to the Soufriere Volcano where you can actually walk down into the mouth of the volcano.  You reboard the bus and head down to a beautiful botanical garden for a short walking tour.  You again board the bus and head down to the pier for a fun filled Catamaran ride past the majestic Pitons, to a quite cove for a brief swim before setting sail back to the Cruise ship.  We had such a great time we plan on doing it again.

My younger sister lived in St. Kitts for several years and she recommended we take the beach excursion which ended in Frigate Bay.  There is a quaint little beach bar called Mr. X's Shiggity Shack.  there was delicious food and fantastic drinks.  It is a small beach area with lounge chairs and plenty of entertainment.  I am not sure if they still offer this excursion.

We have not yet been to St. Maartens so we will be looking for some new adventures when we dock there. We will most likely be doing one of the snorkeling excursions as we are trying to stay away from the beaches (traveling with 14 year old boy who does not need to experience European sunbathing yet). We are looking at one of the catamaran adventures that goes to the private coves.
