     Hi Pam, hi everyone,

welcome to the thread and welcome to our cruise countdown (5 month, 4 days) . I am really looking forward to meet you all on borad and it´s a great idea to catch up for a drink after we have set sail. Is there a better place than the beloved Lido deck and the Pool bar?? A Bloddy Mary always rocks on this ships! So we have 3 awesome islands to discover and I would love to do "Canope". Anyone experianced in this shore excursion?

OK we know there are alot of people booked on this ship lets hear some shouting

who is going to be on this cruise 11-04-09.  It would be cool if it was just the 8 of us but I don't think so. lets hear from some of you. What r u all doing while in port. I have never been to these islands.  which is the best for shopping???    Which is the best for snorkling???.   Or should we just stay on the ship. ( I like that too.)

     Hey Pam,

well there´s lots to do in this beautiful ports! On St. Marteen I will go on the America´s Cub Regatta, I love sailing and I think it´s awesome to go on this boat! After that I would like to go to Mahoe Beach watch the planes comming down over my head :)  On St. Kitts I would like to do the Sky Safari seems to be great fun!

Not totaly sure what excursion on St. Lucia...must be a beautiful island...so ...I need to think about it seriously :)

It´s great we have 4 days on sea so that we have time enough to relax and discover the Miracle and all the opportunity this ship offers! I will join the Monkeyhead Club this time.

    Any plans yet????

hi, Jeff here, of Pam or Jeff. St. Marteen is the only stop that I've found shopping mentioned and included in tours. My own thought is to do Shipwreck Cove and shopping. It seems to cover all the possilities including beach time ( where, God willing there might be nubile young island girls strolling about and swimming in the altogether). For the sake of convincing boss Pam we might not want to bring that up. Talk about photo ops,, gotta get a new telephoto lens.

We are most fond of water tours. Snorkle, dive, snuba or whatever you want to call something that gets us wet, that we like.

I don't really get this monkeyhead business. What do monkeyheads have to do with cruise ships? What, one wonders, makes one eligible to become a monkeyhead? And, of course, why does one want to be a monkeyhead?

Perhaps the anwsers will be revealed on this webpage. So, stay tuned.

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009

Sometime ago someone posted a complaint about the way cruisers waste money.  That started the ball rolling, the club was formed.  It is for anyone, whether you drink or not to be part of the monkeyhead money wasters.  The monkey head is a coconut shell shaped like a money head which holds drinks.  They are cute souveniers that can be taken home.  We all have the right to spend as much money as we want, we worked for it and resent being told what to do.  If you would care to join, go to the forums and click on the link.  You can join there.  Our family are monkeyhead even though my husband and I don't even drink.  We worked hard before we retired, we will spend our money however we see fit.

Well  folks, It is awful quiet on this site. Come on now lets get the ball rolling. So what if we've all cruised before, and maybe it is still quite a long way until we sail there still must be something we can share. Like, if you've been on other cruise lines -- how did they compare and what led you to choose Carnival for this trip. We were planning to do Princess again but all balconies were wait listed. We also wanted to take Pam's niece and third person rates were lower, with this cruise. We've only used these two lines but overall they don't seem that differant so we're curious as to why others made this choice.

Hey guys, I totaly agree; it´s to quiet on this thread! Let´s s go for it! Well, I´ve bee on an europen vessel called AIDA Aura. We cruised the eastern mediteranean sea (Italy, Greece and Croatia) in 2005. It was a great trip but the ship was too small and there were only germans´on it. I hate that! When I am on vacation I like to be surrounded by people of other countrys and cultures, especially US / Canadian citicens. So there was no doupt to chose a US ship for my caribbean cruising. I was alwyas dreaming of cruising with Carnival, when I was a teen I was so impressed of this huge red funnelI wished to be on one of those ships one time. And now it´s my third time. I like it, casual ship, casual people, good service and a good choice of food and drinks. Looking forward to meet u all.

No I say good bye for one week; I will go for a week OFF on sunday and spend my vacation in beautiful Portugal.

    Yours Nadine

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009

Hi Everyone! I experienced my first cruise last year but I had a broken foot and sprained ankle so I was sporting a lovely black boot. Which of course, stopped me from getting around to a lot of the places I wanted to go. But... No worries because I will get back to the Bahamas again. On this cruise I will not be bringing or wearing extra hardware! Moreover, because my big day is just before the Christmas holiday and not a good time for celebrating my day of birth. I will be on board and celebrating my milestone birthday a little early this year. After my celebration cruise, I will stay a few extra days at the Marina. Sounds like a great way to bring in 50! :) It would be really nice to meet all of you on board for a drink! Denise

Welcome to the site, Glad to see you aboard, and, a very happy advance birthday to you. I'm Jeff of Jeff and Pam, we'll be traveling with our niece and her special boyfriend. Most of our cruises have been on Princess with only one on carnival but we're looking forward to this second one. I think you will have a much more enjoyable trip without your extra footwear (I'm sure swimming will be easier). I do hope that we will have an opportunity to get together once onboard with everyone from this thread. We still are keeping in touch with several fine people we met on the previous cruise. So, let's keep typing and we will see everyone on Nov. 4th.

    Re: ROLL CALL 11/04/2009

Hi Jeff of Jeff and Pam, Thanks for the happy birthday!... I still consider myself a cruise 'newbie' and decided when I got back from my last cruise I would try again without the additional footwear. Then I decided it had to be somewhere special because I will be 50 in December. My dad told me about the Southern Caribbean and so that was that. What made you decide on the Princess cruse line? Why did you choose Carnival this time around? I look forward to meeting you and your family! Denise
