Who is joining us on the first official sailing of the Fantasy from Mobile?  This is going to be a six day sailing going to three ports of call....Progreso, Costa Maya, and Cozumel.  It was a choice between this sailing and the first sailing of the Triumph from New Orleans.  It is only a four day sailing with one port.  For about $100 more pp, you can get six days and three ports instead.

I would sure love to, but my dh doesn't seem interested & my youngest will be right in the midst of finals about then - so for right now, it doesn't seem like it is going to work - but I haven't given up all hope yet!

I will be on that cruise with my hubsand. We live in Pensacola so we are only an hour away. We are also going on the Fantasy on April 4, 09. On that cruise our two sons,thier wives , and three grandchildren (boys are 15 and girl is 13). We are looking forward to both cruises. We were on the Holiday in Jan. this year. Our first cruise and enjoyed the cruise but did not like the shaking of the ship. We are new to cruising but see it as a wonderful get away without a lot of driving. Hope to see you onbroad. Joy

P.S. NOTHING BEATS THE BEACHS OF PENSACOLA AND GULF SHORES.

There is always going with your best friend or a co-worker.  I hear a lot of people go this route because their spouses are not interested in cruising. (whats wrong with these folks :) ).    We have to go the sister-in-law route for a babysitter as our children cannot miss that many days of school.

Welcome aboard.  It is still a ways out before this cruise.  I am hoping the rates will drop before then.  This last rate deduction did not affect this sailing.  We ended up booking a 4E on the Verandah deck.

 That is an idea - although my friend that I would want to go with moved to CA for her dh's job, and my other daughter has 3 school age children. Don't have any myself to worry about, but still not giving up hope! Have even thought about tossing it out to the family as a family reunion time - just need to see if my sil would be back from the middle east at that time for that idea.

The daughter in college that I went with last time also keeps searching for cruises for the 2 of us & then telling me about them when she says she should be studying! Might also give the dh another try - after all that is about 1/2 way between 32nd WA & 33rd WA! It does add to it that we have a 15 hour drive each way to get there though! Might consider flying though.

Dave, I knew the cat11 would go quick so I booked v2 on the Verandah deck as soon as I learned of the cruise. I use c-pap to breathe at night and it takes the O2 in the room an converts it to the machine for my use. In a closed room the person sleeping with me (my hubsand Henry) does not get enough O2. So he gets headaches and has to go on deck to get fresh air. I am really looking foward to both cruises.   Joy

I just put down a deposit for this cruise yesterday.  I was on my 1st cruise since I was a kid on the 10/18 sailing and I loved it.  One year from today I will be driving down to Mobile!

We are really looking forward to the first sailing of the Fantasy out of Mobile. I was disappointed to hear that it was leaving in May. Have you been aboard the Elation and if so how does it compare?

I just recently got to the full 20 people we needed to have it.  I am going to be calling Carnival this week in order to book the cocktail party.  Right now it is tentatively scheduled for the first seaday in the Cat's Lounge at 2 pm.

There is a group of 6 who are going to do the Cozumel Bar Hop tour, more are welcome.  The bus takes you to five places around the entire island to include the east side where most people dont go.  It is beautiful on that side.

I am very disappointed that Mobile is getting a ship that is not as functional as the Fantasy.  Both ships are the same class with different decors and names.  The Elation though is lacking the Waterworks, Resort style pool, interconnecting cabins, refurbs of the cabins.  It just went through drydock in March of this year so the next one is not going to be scheduled until 2012.

  Thanks for the info. I wish we had known about the Cozumel Bar Hop sooner. We are already booked on a snorkeling excursion. Is there anything going on at Costa Maya that we can get in on? We are visiting the ruins at Progresso, wasn't sure what to do in Costa Maya. Only 42 more days!!!!

 Most of us in Costa Maya are just going exploring in the village of Majahaul as we have not been back since the hurricane wiped them out.

I made payment today for the cocktail party.  It is scheduled (tentative) for the Cat's Lounge at 2pm on the first seaday.  The cost is $11.44pp.  We are also going to take up a tip collection for the bar waiter and bar tender.  Probably $1 to $2 pp.

Dave, okay I found you. It has been some time since I was on this board. So, The Cat's Lounge, 1400 HRS, 11 Nov. Sounds good. Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else. I was just curious, because after our last reply, everything just shut down and I saw no more traffic from anyone. I'm sure it was my fault. I just got out our papers and was looking at the trip. This will be fun. I still need to get a booking number so that I can do the Carnival Cruise thing on-line. I'll make an effort to stay tuned more and tweak my "Situational Wareness".
