Thank you for the information.  I guess we will plan on arriving around 5:30ish in hopes to get on board.  Is there anyone from Sanford NC sailing? Smithfield, NC?

We will be down in Charleston May 24 for the Triumph, from Wilson, NC. LOVE Charleston and all of it's history. Anybody got any advice on a restaurant (not fancy, good food with good spirits ; ) we shouldn't miss or tours we should try to go on?

Find your way to Shim Creek Inn. Next door is the Waters Edge. A great place to eat. sit out side and watch the bottle nose dalphins surface next to the pier. Then walk across the bridge to Reds for drinks and Yacht watching.

Heres an idea we try to do when ever we travel. make sure you take some Tee's that have either your State, county or company on it. This will attract people that may be from your area or line of business to talk to and stuff.  My Wife Kendra and Daughter Laura and my self are ready to leave out Monday at 1:30 headed to Charleston. Can't wait to checkout the Triumph. Does anyone know if the main dinner will be served Monday night?

I think (not sure) that it will be "open" seating the first night in the dining rooms... Hope so because if 2700 are going to eat at the Lido I will be calling room service when I get on!

Leaving at 1:30... 3-4 hours to get here... 1 hour in "parking" line, 30 min waiting on shuttle and 3 min. to get to terminal... you will be right in the middle of everything...  I would suggest you plan on being in line to park no later than 4ish.. just my opinion.  The area to get to parking gets really crowded as several lanes turn into 1 or 2 thru a security area.  Make sure no guns in car... even with a conceal permit it gets kinda scary.  Several years ago I took some relatives down to board a ship and we were in line over an hour before getting to security and then it was another 20-30 min, to get luggage out, and get me out of there.  Going back to pick them up was a bit better.

    Re: LEaving from charleston Port

We are leaving Simpsonville SC at 1:30 also. We are on a tour bus and it takes 3 hours to arrive at Charleston. I hope the buses get special attention like they do in a NASCAR race. I am hoping to get onboard soon enough to be able to wonder around before we depart. When we left from Jacksonville last year it wasn’t bad at all. We drove up, dropped the luggage off and parked. The walk back was about 10 minutes. We got married on the boat so we got to get on the boat about 2 hours before everyone else.
