    LEaving from charleston Port

Just wondering if anyone has left from this port before? Just need to know if it is a long way from were you leave your car to where board the ship.

    Thanks

I live in Charleston,SC but have never taken the ship out of Charleston.  I have relatives that have gone out of Charleston and there is parking by the ship. The ship is located in the downtown area which is historic and has great shopping and great resturants. If you need more information, I can ask relatives.

We always go out of Fla. because you can go to more islands and usually out of Charleston you only go to Nassau.

We just went on our 15 cruise with Carnival in Sept.

There is parking by the ship, but it is also used for other visitors, so parking is limited.  I would check with your travel agent and see what she advise.

We live in Charleston but have never actually cruised from here.  The ships dock downtown and I'd imagine that the parking lot is close because there isn't a whole lot of room downtown for an alternative location.  Besides, there is a great deal of parking available downtown that will probably work out to be much cheaper than $15 a day if you're willing to catch at $5 cab to the port.  Aside from the anniversary/honeymoon cruise, may I suggest that you spend some time in Charleston.  My husband and I have been all over the world, and Charleston truly is a beautiful romantic city with a lot to see.  Aside from the historic downtown, there is Cypress Gardens nearby which is where The Notebook was filmed.  There are lots of great resteraunts right downtown - almost anything to suit your taste.  The bed and breakfasts are very romantic.  Just a thought...

We live here too and are cruising November 09 and I contacted the port about parking and drop-offs.  The garage for parking during a cruise is closed to the public.  They is a luggage drop off near the garage and then you ride a shuttle bus to the terminal which is also not open to anyone but cruisers.  You do have to pay a vehicle storage fee.  Our cruise is 5 days and it would cost $80.

My wife, daughter and I are also on this sale date. Our travel agent The Cruise Corner in Simpsonville SC is bussing everyone down and then bringing us back home. How cool is that?

Are you going in May or Oct.?  How many from your area?  We will be 2 but I think there will be a large amount of people from SC.

    Re: LEaving from charleston Port

We are very excited. There will be eight of us on this cruise.  I am wondering what time we can board the ship.  I understand the ship is coming in from Miami May 25th.  I have heard conflicting stories as to when we can board.  7:30 PM?  4:00 PM?

Does anyone know for sure?  We are traveling from NC and do not want to get there too early.

Plenty of info I have posted...

Short answer - ship leaves at 10pm earliest you can get into port - 4pm... may be 5:30-6ish before boarding... by Carnival it's 7pm til 8:30pm.
