    Anyone planning on cruising 12/28/08

We are very excited that we are in the double digits away from our cruise date.  It is our first cruise together as a family.  Our son, who is 13 is going too and he almost forgot about it until I told him we have about 80 days left.  We are also celebrating our 20th anniversary!!!!

I am wondering if anyone else is going during this time and what excursions or plans you have to give us some ideas.  There are so many things to do, we are getting overwhelmed.  I know I will pack too much and will try my best not to do so but, again, the first cruise and the excitement, I will probably pack everything in my closet.

Anyway, I hope to hear from others who are going during this same time - where we can celebrate the New Year cruising!!!

We will be on the same cruise - we have two girls who will be 8 & 13 and they are really looking forward to it - we cruised with Carnival a couple years ago and we all LOVED it!   I suggest bringing walkie talkie type radios to let your son have some freedom while still keeping in touch with him - at this age they can check themself in/out of the youth  program and our 13 year old daughter loves this freedom.   Congrats on making 20 years!  Happy Anniversary!  So far we have planned to do the dolphin swim in PV but haven't booked anything at the other two stops - I think we'll wait until we get on board and see what they say - they usually have a little talk on the different excursions.

Not only are we going on the same cruise but we are coming from the same area and have the same first name.  This could be interesting.  Thanks for the reply and the information.  I wasn't sure what would be available as far as the excursions if you wait until you are on the ship.  It is nice to hear that you can still do that.  Thanks for the idea on the walkie talkies too.  We were thinking about that since I saw it on the other posts.  Thanks again for your reply and maybe we will meet up on the cruise.  The days are counting down.  Take care.

    Joyce.

Some excursions DO fill up so if there is something you really want I'd book it ahead but we're waiting on all but PV since we didn't really see anything that was a must do for us in the other ports... I'm getting excited.

Re: Anyone planning on cruising 12/28/08

My son is so excited to try the jet skiis we rented in Mazaltan.  We didn't see much either in the way of excursions that we all wanted so we have jet skiis rented and will spend the day at a hotel and maybe shop and walk around.

Since your kids have been on a cruise, is there anything they wished they had packed for the trip and forgot to?  I know I will pack for a month stay but will try to keep it light but I don't want to forget anything either.  Just curious.  Thanks again for your suggestions.
