    Carnival Ecstasy 9-20-08 Sailing

This was our 5th cruise with Carnival and I have to say it was great.  Lots of friendly people and loads of fun.  I especially enjoyed watching the Cowboys' game on Sunday with all my fellow Cowboy fans.

The "Highlights" in the Chinatown Bar were great, probably the best I have heard on a cruise ship.  They were so good my 92 yr old mother-in-law (who doesn't drink) closed the bar at 2am when their last set was finished.  She was there every night they played.

I hope all had a great time.  Debarking was the pits, but oh well, it was worth the trip.

So glad to hear you had a great trip!

I'll be sailing on her Nov 10, and am really excited.

In my experience, debarking is ALWAYS the pits, but, like you, I feel it's worth the price!

We were on the same cruise, it was a blast. Did you get a chance to try the little Sushi Bar? A lot of folks seemed to not even know of it. Some how we lucked out and got off the ship right away, we pulled out of the parking area at about quarter to ten.

Yes, we did see the Sushi Bar, but didn't try it.  You were lucky getting off, we didn't get off until about 1230pm.  The elevator in the Port terminal was not working and since my mom-in-law was in wheelchair, they had us wait on ship until it was fixed. Then it was about another 30-45 minutes till we cleared the building.

But no complaints about the cruise, we had a great time.  We had a penthouse suite and had plenty of room accommodating our mother's needs (concentrator, wheelchair, etc.)  We originally had an oceanview room, but for a small price (because of cancellations) were upgraded to the suite...which was great..big balcony, lots of room, walk in closet, jacuzzi tub and more drawer space than we needed.  I have been spoiled...but under normal circumstances we could not afford this suite, but it was great.

We were on that cruise as well and loved "The Highlights" also!  We spent an evening in there with a large group of fun people - several we sat with at dinner and a large group we met in the bar.  Maybe you (Tina) were there that night?  There was a guy in our group that said we were all Pirates and went around all night making a hook with his finger and going "Argghhh!!!" to everyone in the group.  He was a hoot!

    Cannot wait to cruise!!! :)

We had sushi twice.  It was nice to have it for a snack to tide us over til our late dinner seating (Yeah, right!  Like we needed any more food!  I spent the entire week with indigestion from overeating!).  We don't often have sushi here in the "real world".  I thought it was mediocre but I'm still glad I had it.

If you are getting ready for a cruise, don't miss it!  It's outside of the casino.

    Cannot wait to cruise!!! :)
