Re: My Recent Carnival Cruise-A MUST READ

I know the original post was in Sept, but since it was "revived" on Christmas Eve, I wanted to post an update on Ecstasy for anyone reading this later....wouldn't want newbies to think things were still bad...  I'm going to move forward on the assumption that the OP had legit complaints...don't know if they were or not, but willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

We recently cruised the Ecstasy and the food was as hot as can be expected....(for a buffet).  Of course (and I'm sure most would agree with this) the food is better in the dining room than on Lido, but it was "ok" on Lido.  We just ate in the dining room as often as we could as I tend to "dislike" buffets ANYWHERE!    There were a variety of desserts each day...They were the same on lido as in the dining rooms....we didn't have any food poisoning....Sea sickness was related to rough seas getting out of Galveston in Dec. but i hear that's pretty much "standard" for Galveston that time of year.  At any rate, it wasn't related to food quality.

Why blame Carnival for being sick - who do people blame when they are sick in their own homes?  Five days of my last seven day cruise on the Conquest was spent sick in my room; but the Carnival infirmary was wonderful to me.  I had several IVs and numerous shots and medications.  No, it wasn't a wonderful vacation spent in bed; but SICK HAPPENS!! I am going on my next cruise in May and looking forward to having a fantastic vacation.

Re: My Recent Carnival Cruise-A MUST READ

We have been on three cruises so far-two seven day and one five day. So that is a total of nineteen dinners that we have had on  board. Of those nineteen dinners, my wife did not care for the Won-Ton soup once and another time she did not care for the jerked beef (too dry)

That is two times out of nineteen that the meal was not perfect. Now, if you factor in the fact that my son and I were there too and had no probems....That comes to FIFTY SEVEN MEALS with only two problems.

How many good restaurants can claim that few complaints?

Considering that they are serving a thousand meals a night, I think that they do a pretty good job.

Thank you for your positive comments.  We leave in a week for our very first cruise and I can't wait to eat all that DELICIOUS food.  The melting cake sounds wonderful - I love sweets.  We are looking forward to a great time and I'm sure a lot of others are as well.

Though this can not be proven now because the OP has made changes to remain annynymous, this was NOT a legitimate post.  It came from a "phantom poster" who has since either gone underground or stopped their shennanigans. Wink   If you wish to check this out, do a search of my posts...date: 3rd week of January approximately...  You will find all the posts from me and others that explain everything I am saying here.

I know posts like this upset devoted Carnival cruisers, so wanted to let everyone know that this person has posted multiple complaints with multiple names and multiple cruises/expereicnces...  They have been "rooted out" be the regulars around here (prompted by things I found out a month ago) and have since  "changed their spots" so to speak.

There's really no need to give any more creedence to the individual by replying....

    Have a great day everyone!

Actually, if the Carnival dining staff did not do their jobs, such as hold food at the wrong temperatures, not wash their hands, etc. they can be blamed for making someone sick. And it has happened before, I have seen it on the news.

Also, two or more people do not have to be sick for a foodborne ILLNESS . It must be two or more to be considered an OUTBREAK. If there is a foodborne illness on a cruise, chances are there will be several people sick, but it is possible for only one person to have it. And it is possible that something they ate before the cruise made her sick. Some foodborne illnesses can take up to three days to show symptoms. Most people blame the last thing they ate, and that is rarely the case.
