    Hi! And a couple questions...

Greetings All! This is my first post here...Big Smile

I'm getting married in April of 2009...WooHoo Cool

Me and the soon-to-be-missus will be taking our third cruise together (4th cruise for me) and will be taking the 12-day Hawaii to Vancover trip 4/24/09. I've not been to Hawaii since I was about 14 or so. Am I correct in assuming that the ship's casino is like the other cruises, meaning it's not open until we're out to sea?

Lest you think I'll be a spending all my honeymoon in the casino, Wink we will have actually been in Hawaii for a week by that time. Geeked We're geting married the 15th and will be heading out the next day...

Also, has anyone stayed in cabin 4235? Any reviews? It's a category 11 suite!Yes All our other cruises have been in either a interior or a single window cabin, so I'm looking forward to the extra room...and the balcony! Paradise

     Hello from Las Vegas,

CONGRATS you are a lucky man!!!  If you have never had a balcony cabin, you are in for a treat.  We would never cruise anyway else, it's so nice to be able to watch the world go by while enjoing a nice cocktail and my favorite cigar!  I belive the casino opens after you're  at sea. Unlike VEGAS' 24/7. I'm sure you will have plenty of things to keep you out of the casino... Enjoy your life with your new bride and always treat her right!!!

    Thanks for the well wishes!

I'm lookingforward to it myself! On oneof the other boards I saw a list of things to take and one of them was a bungee cord so you can keep the balcony door open to hear the waves all night...sounds good to me!Yes

If the casino is the same as my previous cruises, it doesn't open while one is at port. If that's the case, then it won't be open at all the first 7 days of the cruise!Tongue Tied

Not that I'm a hard core gambler, of course. It's just that we have no casinos or gambling in Alaska and the only casino's I've ever been in have been on cruise ships!Big Smile So I like to experience them while I can...Cool

Tony:      I believe the casino will open after dinner between the islands while we sail. We depart each island around 6 PM except for the two day stays at Maui and the Big Island.  They will not miss the opportunity to take your money.  As far as the balcony, I will get a bungie cord, we are looking forward to private times for cocktails and more on in the sun and romantic evenings on the balcony.

I've not taken a Carnival cruise to Hawaii but I know the NCLA cruise had no casino's onboard because it was against the law there.  Only in international waters.  I think you have to wait until they sail there or back.  I'm not sure how it works for Carnival but I know our ship on NCL didn't even have a casino for that reason cuz they never went into International waters - just interisland.

Hey Tony, Congrats!!! My husband and I got married on the Carnival Pride and cruised to the Mexican Riviera in Feb. 2007. The mini-suites are spacious and the balconies are huge ( relatively speaking). We live up in Wasilla. We are booked on another Mexican Riviera cruise in Feb. 2009. Going for 8 days and then we are flying to Cabo for one week. We have a timeshare and we are really looking forward to our vacation. Maybe we can get together and talk about our upcoming cruises.
