Good morning, We are now into the teens, which is great.  Now I won't feel so bad when I bring the suitcases up into the livingroom.  I have all my clothes, I just need to iron them and pack them.  I pretty much have my hubby's and my sons clothes they will wear for dinner, I just need them to get their shorts and such.

I think everyone on this roll call is also on the cruise critic roll call so it looks like we will have a big group at our meet & greet.  I'm so looking forward to meeting new people.  I'm still in contact with several people I met in April on the Spririt.

Looking forward to meeting everyone, see you all in 19 days.    JoAnne

19 days...can you believe it?  And it is Wednesday so only 3 more days to work this week and when we come back on Monday it is only 14 days...OMG!  I have 8 more days to the Inauguration Ceremony and CTN...SUPER excited about that so I can get the lay of the ship before we leave for Thanksgiving.

Woke up this morning here is south jersey to what almost looked like frost, I think the high today is only supposed to be in the 50's...it was like 40 this morning.  I can't wait to just lay on a deck chair and chill...I sure hope the weather is nice, it is still good in Florida so Bahamas should still be good!

My daughter and I are going on the DREAM for Christmas.  Can you all post some pictures when you get back?  I am so anxious and almost cannot wait.  Also, I want to find out which excursions everyone liked best (are you all going to Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, like we are?)  If anyone goes to the Supper Club, I want to hear your "thoughts".  I was going to treat myself and my daughter to it one night.  I want to hear all about the shows, activites, and food, too.  I think this is my 15th cruise, but I have never been on anything like the DREAM. Oh, also, what is a cruise critic meeting?  I have never heard of that before.  I hope you all have a GREAT time!

Hi there Debbie and Haley,  Cruise critic is another talk forum.  Just go to Cruise Critic.com, you will have to register then go to boards, find your cruise and start meeting people.  They have a meet & greet on the ship.  Someone from Carnival usually takes a group photo.  If you google pictures of the Carnival Dream there are hundreds of pictures of the ship after they were done building her.  She is a beauty.  Our cruise is not going to St. Thomas or St. Maarten, I wish it was.  We go to Port Canaveral, Nassau & Freeport.  I have read some reviews from people that have just gotten off and they say the shows are really good.  Hope you and your daughter have a good time.

Well this morning I tried on all my clothes including bathingsuits.  Yikes that was not pretty.  Anyways I have all my shoes and clothes.  I just need to get my undies, iron and pack.

I don't know about wally world near you but the one here doesn't have any suntan lotion.  They told me they put it away for the winter.  If you can't find any I guess you can always get it when we hit Florida.  You might have some luck at a drug store.  Well I'm off to the grocery store.  Have a good day.   Jo

    Re: Thanksgiving DREAM - 11/23/2009

Not to worry, we will post plenty of pics and let you know about everything.  We are going to the supperclub 2 times but not taking the kids...my oldest is a vegetarian and I can't see spending the money for her to eat starches and vegetables.  She can do that anywhere on the ship!

I am wondering with it being Thanksgiving while we are in Florida what is and what is not going to be open?  I have been to Cocoa Beach atleast 10 times and I don't plan on going there this time unless of course I have to run to Walgreens to get sunblock!  I think I may just order some online.  This way I know I can get what I want...I am going to try to cutback though...last time I brought like 5 bottles and we only used 2.  So maybe I will bring 4 since there is going to be 5 of us.  I guess I'll figure it out...I think I may go on and do that right now actually!

You might want to try CVS.  I was there the other day and they had some.  I've been looking into it and it seems that most "theme" parks and attractions are open.  It is a tourist area, so I imagine some ma and pops will be closed, but I don't think everything will be.  They might close early like the stores area me.

    Re: Thanksgiving DREAM - 11/23/2009

jojo, I haven't tried on any of my clothes and I am VERY afraid to do so, especially the bathingsuits.  We had a lot of weddings this summer and went out and did a lot of drinking so I am not in the best shape of my life.  No too much I can do in 2 1/2 weeks but I am gonna try to do something!

I just ordered the sunscreen online so I know that I got what I want.  I like a specific brand and if I waited to FL and they didn't have it I would have been in and out of 10 stores looking for it.

We will almost be ready to sail at this time in 18 days.....I love vacations!

I will be a little honest, I was worried about Carival being as good or better than Disney, but we are open minded and are excited about this cruise. I see that you are renting a car. We were going to do that but didnt think any car rentals would be open.

Which rental compnay are you going with?

We went with Thrifty.  We always use Budget in Port Canaveral but they are only open until 1:00 pm that day and they have no drop box.  Thrifty's policy is when you rent the car it is for 24 hours and they have a drop box.  I think they close at like 5:00 but they said just leave the keys in the drop box and as long as they are there when they come in the next day we are OK...

Are they going to have a shuttle running from the port to the car rental pick up. Or are you going to be using a taxi?

They will have a shuttle in the morning but in the afternoon after we drop the car off we are going to need to use a taxi as they will be closed for the holiday.  Not a big deal, should only be about $15 with tip.
