sogwod:I have been searching for a Carnival Cruise for Thanksgiving 2009. We went on the Valor Thanksgiving 2007 and had a great time. I cannot find the Dream cruise, where is it going and how did you find it? I would appreciate any info you can give me. Enjoy your cruise, we have been on Carnival twice and loved it.
The Destiny has a Thanksgiving Weekend Cruise. It's Thursday to Monday. I booked it instead of the Dream, so my family members would miss limited amounts of school (oldest daughter in grad school, grandsons in 2nd & 1st grades) and work (my wife, youngest daughter, & son-in-law). Since I'm semi-retired and just a sub teacher now, I can cruise whenever and as long as I like. Since Monday is a holiday also in PA, the first day of deer/rifle season, and my wife works for the school district, she will get a 4-night cruise without missing any work at all. That's important since she's taking a week for the Liberty, a week for the Holiday, and 4 days for the Splendor in the next five months. I guess maybe we're done cruising until after July 1, 2010. Sigh!
To find the Dream Cruise, go to Carnival.com, choose Fun Ship Fleet, choose the Dream, choose itinerary, and pick your cruise from the lists. If you are interested in the Destiny Cruise, follow the same procedure for the Destiny. The Destiny is going to Key West and Cozumel. I'm justifying the grandsons missing school on Monday by taking them to see the Mayan Ruins at Tulum (and the second most beautiful beach on Earth of course) as a history lesson.
We love you Kalyn Padget and Rosie Unsworth (our lovely adopted daughters), Amy Barton, Melanie Therrien, TJ, and Rick! The Fun Crew puts the fun in Carnival Cruising! Thank you Butch for being a fantastic CD!
I've only been off the Holiday for a short time, and I'm already having fits of melancholy. I guess unless we can cruise every two months, I'll probably never be satisfied again.
Our 7 YO and 6 YO grandsons decided that they would prefer a Thanksgiving Cruise to Key West and Cozumel on the Destiny to Thanksgiving in Orlando/Kissimmee this November. We must be teaching them well. Thanks for an excuse for my booking another cruise, guys!

We went on two Norwegian Cruise Line Tramp Steamer Cruises - Thank goodness we were too busy on our honeymoon in 1978 to realize how crummy the cruise actually was - Then they ruined our 2007 Hawaii Cruise that was my retirement gift from my wife - Two chances is enough! - Never again!
Our current future dream cruise is 15 days back-to-back on the Freedom / 8-day Eastern (Fort Lauderdale) and the Valor / 7-day Western (Port of Miami) with a 45 minute private shuttle ride in between the two Fun Ships.
