I didnt know there was free drinks at the Captains's Cocktail Party! Maybee i will say hi to the captain. : )

 Don't get too excited. The free drinks are the drinks they choose to give you, some of which are making my gag reflexes react right now. They just walk around with a tray and you may get 5 drinks brought to you or if your overlooked, you may only get one. We always go, and I always try different drinks and my husband watches all the faces I make at some of the drinks.

You can ask for your favorite drink ( a $1 tip will help) but it may take awhile to get back to you.  ken

You can say hi to the captain, but he won't hear you. 

On our last cruise not only did we get to say hi, we shook his hand when I said hello to him in Italian ( had another Italian teach me before I went.) . That got his attention.

We asked for differant drinks by catching a waiter on the way back with an empty tray. Tipped him a 2 dollar bill( always get 100  from the bank before we go) and we were his first stop on the way back with our frozen drinks. $2.00 bill tips go along way on a cruise and your bank can order them for you from the federal reserve. Minium is $200.00 worth, 100 - $2.00 dollar bills). Also use them for baggage handlers, Room service waiters(food is free but they are not included in the Daily tips). Cab drivers hotel baggages handlers, etc.

If it is your second Carnival cruise (5 days or more) you get invited to a past guest party and the drinks are free there also. There is also free champane(sp) at the art Auction.

 Thanks for the info. This will be our 3rd cruise. 1st one was feb this year a 2day to bahamas, we just got back last moth from a 4 day cruise to Cozumel. That was fun. Now our 3rd... lovely 7 days out to sea in februray 09 !!! yippy!!  I can't wait.
