while reading on another board, it was stated that the Cruise Port in Grand Turk was severly damaged and would not open for awhile.  I just got off the phone with Carnival and they say as far as they know all ship's are continuing to sail there.  Does anybody else have any other info?  My family and I are sailing out on October 6th aboard the "Destiny", but no matter what, I know we'll still have a great cruise, after all, it's a Carnival cruise!  But I was hoping to make it to Grand Turk.  Thank you ahead of time for any and all replies.

According to Cruise Critic the  pier is fine.  Cruise port has roof & landscaping damage. Due to substantial damage to the rest of the island, it's unclear when repair work could start.  As of now the port is closed until further notice.  You can check cruisecritic.com for updates.

I just got an email from my travel agent that they are sending us back to Tortola instead of Grand Turk.  Now I'm on a different ship than you are so maybe its according to ship.  I'm sailing out of NYC on 10/8 to EC. via Miracle.  I'm not sure if that helped you or not.. Good Luck

Thank you both luv2cruz & debi4527 !!!!  I sure hope the people are able to get back on their feet fast as they depend on the cruise industry for half or not all of their income.  I hope we get diverted to Tortola, alot better than Freeport for us!  Thank you both for taking out the time to answer my question.  If we don't get to visit the beautiful island of Grand Turk this year, then there's alway's next year!  And on a Carnival ship no less!!!
