    Driving from Ocho to Kingston?

Hi fellow cruisers!  One of my ports is Ocho Rios and my dbf wants to see Bob Marley's house in Kingston (56 Hope Road).  Is this the same as the "Nine Mile" excursion?  I know there are tours that take you there because I've done it from Ocho Rios while vacationing there.  However, I am wondering if anyone has ventured out this far with a non-Carnival tour.  They're only 35 miles apart (as the crow flies).  So I figure an hour there and an hour back because of the fantastic jamaican driving skills on those crazy roads.  But I'm pretty hesitant.  So what do ya think?  Thanks!

I think you are crazy!  People that live in Kingston don't even drive to Kingston lol.  But seriously it is not somewhere that I would go unescorted.  I am sure if you talk to a Carnival Rep they could help you find the right excursion that will offer you a safer trip.

I'm not trying to go unescorted.  There are tours that will pick you up in Ocho and take you to Kingston.  They are through reputable tour companies and there are no safety concerns.
