Where in Michigan do you live?  Four of us will be on the Splendor on 01/24/09.  We all live in Bay City.  We cruise in January for the same reason, Plus school is in session and not too many kids will be aboard.

Thats funny Crusinlvrs, I'm the same way, I can tell you we have 49 more days to the cruise, but not Christmas...I guess us parents think alike!~  But it always help to have a counter for ya!  This is our 3 cruise, the first one we went with another couple with their kids, the one in April we went just the four of us and had a Wonderful time.  I meet lots of folks on this site and with my Monkeyhead shirt, meet them in person as soon as I got on board.  We all hung out at the shows every night!  Now on this one, we have other family members joining us for their first cruise, so this one should be fun as well.  Look for me and my husband on boarding day, we will be wearing our Monkeyhead shirts.  On the back, mine saids SeaChell and his saids Bartman!  If you see us, call us OUT!

Bump Bump

The 1-24-09 Splendor Cruise will be my first.  My 15 year old daughter and I are going with a group of about 100, some we know and some we don't.  I will definitely be looking for the Monkeyheads...you sound like a fun group.  I have to admit, I am getting a little worried with all of the bad reviews for the Splendor.  Hope it goes better for us!!

Emtchick  BAD NEW, I better start reading!~  Only 32 more days and couting!~  Emtchick, maybe my daughter and your daughter will meet at CAMP....this is our is our 3rd cruise with carnival and my kids LOVE CAMP...but this is our first in Jan.  So I am worry there won't be too many kids.  We have year round schools, so my kids are out of school during the cruise!

dont' worry i was on cruise critic last night and some folks who just got off the splendor said it was the best vacation ever.  so i think that we will be fine.  i have cruised every january for past 5 years and there aren't a ton of kids but enough for yours to have fun.  We are taking ours for first time but they are younger than yours.  we will have fun - i am sure some of the complaints are due to the staff working out kinks of new ship.  see you soon!!  Woo Hoo

The only thing I have read that I'm not happy about is, that in St. Thomas they dock at a diff. spot....which doesn't sound good.  We were in St.Thomas in April for the first time and loved it.  Once we docked we could walk to the shopping, well I think now you MUST take a taxie to do anything....seeing as I have been there I WAS looking forward to it...now I'm scared.  Well see ya in 29 days!  Don't forget look for the Monkeyhead T-Shirt!  Woo Hoo
