    OhBrother

I hope you don't let that one particular thread that Carnival locked turn you away from the website. We really do get along well for the most part. Every now and then someone thinks they know everything about everyone and stops the party, don't you hate that. Well, I am starting my list for my upcoming cruise today and I intend to have fun doing it.

I am going to ignore all comments made that reflect ANY type of negativity. No more of that for me, I joined this board to have a good conversation with some cool people and that is what I will do. Breeze3005, my list has some really crazy items on it now. The more I cruise the more stuff I realize I need to have on hand. I am going to imagine walking into that suite, having a DOD in a monkeyhead and chilling out.

Yep, I know what you mean about the list, mine ends up with some crazy stuff on it also.  I had clothes pins on mine. So I packed some and couldn't remember what they were used for.  I just found out people use them to clip shut the curtains. I actually could've used them for that and didn't even think of it.

I think I know what ya'll are talking about at the top of this thread.  That same person responded to one of my postings a while back and it stopped me in my tracks from writing for a while.

ANYWAY, I'm excited about packing and stuff, too!  When are all your cruises?  Ours is 11/16/08.  Sorry if you've read this before, but I'm just excited b/c we're getting married on the ship before it leaves Galveston!

I love seauonboard's great ideas and hints!  I'll probably print her list and take it with me everywhere I go!  Clothes pins is a GREAT idea!

I'm so glad all is OK and we've got loads of fun in store!!  Happy Cruisin'!!!

    Cool

Congratulation on your upcoming nuptials!  Sounds very exciting.  Our first cruise was our honeymoon 17 years ago!  I'm thinking we may renew our vows on the ship on our 20th anniversary!   We actually just got back last month from our cruise on The Elation and won't be cruising again until next July!

BethnMike, congrats on the wedding!!! At least you know no matter what happens you have a cruis eto look forward to. We took a cruise immediately after we got married, it was the best vacation we ever had, I hope you guys have tons of fun!!!

Our cruise is on the Destiny 12-16-08. I can't wait, it seems like it is going to take forever to get here, but it has already been 2 1/2 months since I booked it. Time goes so sloooowwwww when you have a cruise booked.

Clothes pins, it took until my 3rd cruise to get this one. I heard someone else say they were taking them and I didn't ask them why until we got back and thye said to pin the curtains together, I smacked myself for being so dumb. We have a category 11 this time so we will bring lots of clothes pins because we should have a considerably longer balcony. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I bring a small pharmacy onboard because anything you need, tylenol, dramamine, sunburn lotion is 5 times more expensive on the ship. The clothes pins never occured to me either until 2 cruises ago when I asked someone who brought them, they are genius. I also bring my own cleaners, lysol, clorox in a small bottle cause I have a little germaphobia going on over here. Just have to be safe, can't get sick on vacation!!!

Congrats! and thank you for the nice comment.

Clothes pin are great!  I actually take them as - well - clothes pins.  All the ships I've been on have a retractable clothesline in the shower.  I hang our swimsuits in there.

Not sure which post you folks are talking about - but I will take you word for it that people do want to rain on the parade sometimes.

I will say that I would NEVER try to bring everything I have on the lists - you would have to bring a steamer trunk :).  But the list does help so you can decide what you think is needed.

    Everyone have a great time.

    Hope 2 Sea U Onboard - Cheryl

I was on the Elation and looked for the retractable clothesline, thinking that must be why I brought them, but there wasn't one. Maybe the newer ships?

As for the clothespins, another use for them, if you have a couple plastic clothes hangers, would be for your swim wear. After you wash or rinse it, hang it on the shower rack to dry. And of course if you have potato chips, etc you can use them to keep the bags closed. There are a lot of uses, thanks for mentioning them

Thanks to everyone for your sweet words!!!  You guys are the best!  We're both incredibly excited!

Seauonboard, I've been wanting to write and let you know just how much I've enjoyed reading your website.  I go back and read it at least twice a week!  You've really gone to a lot of trouble to set all that up and it's appreciated by so many!

As I was reading the posts, I was thinking the exact thing that Debbie wrote.  I always use clothes pins on my chips and stuff!

I'm planning on bringing a small box of detergeant from a local laundromat and a dryer sheet, too.  You never know how much those things will cost on the ship or even if they'll run out.
