    Nachi-Cocom beach

After doing a lot of research, we have decided that we want to go to Nachi-Cocom while in Cozumel.  The only thing I have not been able to find out is what the cost is to go here.  Has anyone been there recently?

    Cannot wait to cruise!!! :)

    Re: Nachi-Cocom beach

Hi!  We just returned from our cruise and we spent the day at Nachi Cocum on 8/21.  It cost $49 for adults and we had 3 teens with us at $29 each.  We had booked this online through a group called Island Marketing.  We had made a $45 deposit for all 3 of us and we had to pay the rest in cash upon entering Nachi.  This included all our drinks and food.  They put wrist bands on us to identify our ages.  We were there all day and including the 5 of us there were only 10 people at Nachi all day.  We all commented on how much it was like paradise.  The kids parasailed at $60 each and we all did the banana boat for $15 each.  After spending our day there, my husband and I commented on how we understand now how people end up being late returning to the ship because we did not want to leave.  They catered to us like we were royalty.  When we arrived, the water sports guy greeted us and asked if we would like to plan any water sports throughout the day and what times we would like for them to be arranged.  They also offered massages on the beach for $40 (I think for 30 or 45 minutes) and the cost of a glass bottom boat w/snorkeling and a guide was also $40 per person for 1 1/2 hours.  The food was also great and more than we could eat.

We rented a jeep at Executive Car Rentals for $55 including insurance.  Bargain with them and they will drop prices even on rentals.  What's funny though is upon returning, our credit card would not go through and we had to bum cash from our kids to pay for it, lol.  We later found out that our bank/credit union must have a security feature from allowing it to go through in a foreign country.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Great review, we can't wait to go.  We are booked there on our November cruise.  We booked with Cozumel Cruise Excursions- Island Marketing Ltd, http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/CozumelBeachBreak.htm  From the reviews I've read its by far the best beach club in Cozumel on the best beach.  We were at Paradise before and we found it crowded and over priced so I think this is going to be perfect plus they have a pool!!

    Dave and Vicky,

    Thanks for the great review!

Did any of you go snorkling?  If so, how much is it?  Do you take a boat out to the reefs?  Sounds like an expensive day!

We will be going soon and are hoping the hurricanes settle down before our sail date of Sept. 20!

    Cannot wait to cruise!!! :)

They offer snorkeling on their website the Cozumel Cruise Excursions one, I think its $38 for adults and less for kids.  They also offer beach massages, jetski rentals and parasailing

    Re: Nachi-Cocom beach

OK, we just got back and thought that Nachi Cocom is Cozumel's best kept secret!  It is incredibly beautiful and peaceful - a little piece of tropical paradise!  If you want the beach party scene, you won't find it here, but it is everything we wanted; secluded, quiet and beautiful.

You can just walk up and pay the $49 all-inclusive entrance fee (we did).  It is the same price as online booking; however the excursions are more expensive if you have not booked in advance.  We paid $30 more for tandem parasailing than we would have if we had booked online (see website in shellywade's post above this one).

Finally, don't do what I did and have a Mai Tai on an empty stomach and then parasail before lunch!  Big Smile It does a number on your stomach (I won't go into detail)!  Ick!

    Cannot wait to cruise!!! :)

After reading the reviews here, I just booked our family of 5 for this resort on Dec 30, 2008. It was very easy, you give them a deposit with your credit card and just pay the balance once you arrive. We also booked the snorkling excursion. We definitely saved some $$$ by booking on our own, we got the best of both worlds, snorkling and a beach resort with full lunch buffett and unlimited open bar for the adults and beverages for the kids.

    Re: Nachi-Cocom beach

Nachi Cocom is the best kept secret in Cozumel. I was there just a few weeks ago. I did some reseach on the internet because this was my 4th time cruising to Cozumel and we wanted to do a beach day. We wanted a place that wasn't going to be crowded and we hit the jackpot with Nachi Cocom. We did not pre-book, we just showed up at the entrance and it was $49 per person all you can eat and drink. There were only about 20 people there at the most and 8 of those were in our group. They have a HUGE pool with swim up bar and hot tub, great beach area and nice open air eating facility. You won't be disappointed.

    Happy Sailing!!

    Janann,

Our 3rd cruise will be to Cozumel as our 2nd was diverted to the Bahamas due to Hurricane Ike.  I do have one question for you tho.  Is the shoreline at this beach rocky at all?  I had been researching beaches in Cozumel prior to our cruise for months looking and trying to find the "perfect beach" as it was a must do for me.  Most from what I was told had rocky bottoms.  I did decide on Paradise Beach but after reading your review I now need to know if the shoreline is rocky.  From the sounds of your review this place sounds perfect.  I just don't want to walk along the shore on rocks.  Since we were diverted at the very last minute all my research "went out the window" and am now looking forward to cruising to Cozumel sometime next fall.  Is this my "perfect beach?"  Paradise

    Re: Nachi-Cocom beach

    Hi Suzy,

NO, there are no rocks on this beach. It's a great beach. There are no beaches in downtown and it is all rocks, but Nachi Cocom is about 15 minutes out of town and the beach is all sand. I will say it's very soft sand so it was a little hard to walk in, but the only "rocks" we found were all the conch shells we found (we are pretty sure they were planted there....LOL).  I wouldn't say it's "perfect", but we found it pretty darn close to perfect. I think the reason we liked it so much was the lack of people there. We didn't want a crowd and we didn't get one. They waited on us like kings and it was great. I did a lot of reseach also and I wasn't disappointed and I don't think you will be.

    Happy Sailing!!

We went to NachiCocum last year, but honestly was quite crowded and as a large family with toddlers, was kind of unconfortable. Last month went to Mr Sanchos through http://cozumel-watersports.com/Tours/SanchosBeachBreak.htm, extremely nice, son went ATVing and I went on the horseback ride..they have lots of toys and beach tours, so far the best we went to! Really recommendable, totally sandy beach with water trampoline and everything...hope it helps!

    Re: Nachi-Cocom beach

Does anyone know if there are any free beaches in Cozumel?  It seems like you have to pay to go to the beach (unlike in the US).

We are cruising out of New Orleans on 11/24 and are planning to rent a car at the pier in Cozumel and see the island.  I know not to snorkel on the east side of the island, but are there any western facing beaches we could stop at with no cost?

    Hi Jeff,

I'm sure there are, but I will say in all the research I did, I couldn't find any. Pretty much all the beach along the western side is one beach club after another. Good luck finding one! Enjoy your cruise!
