I think the first one is the first full day at sea. When is the second elegant night on the spirit? We want to make supper club reservations.

As I recall the 2nd "formal" night is either the next to last night or the night before that. Toward the end but not the very last night. I've been on the Spirit in both Alaska and Mexico and have eaten at the Supper Club both times. By ALL means do it. It's worth every penny and more! The service, the ambiance, the presentation is fantastic. At first I thought, well the dining room dinner is fine, why pay extra, but I was encouraged to go to the Supper Club and it was more than worth it.

what would you recommend to wear?

I am bound for the Mexican Riveria on October 27th.  Was told the two formal nites are usually the first Tuesday and the last Sunday of the cruise but it's at the captains discretion.

We, too  are sailing on the 27th out of San Diego for the Riviera to Aculpulco, etc.  You are correct.  Those will be the evenings of the formal nights.  This will be our 3rd trip to these ports, and are counting down the days.

Hey, so you've been to these ports before?  What would you recommend as far as shore excursions?  We are seasoned cruisers but never this far down into Mexico.  Have signed on for the divers but nothing else!  What would you recommend?  We often go on our own and not on the ship excursions.  Since we are two single women (sisters) we are not tempted to go ashore late at night.  Thoughts?
