Hi all....I am just checking to see if there has been anymore talk about replacing the Holiday?  I know they plan on upgrading the gangway.  I am looking forward to October coming and going since that is when the contract is up...which means that they may make an announcement then.

If not, I will still enjoy!!

I spoke with my PVP about this yesterday, and she said that the Holiday is still on the schedule through 12/09.  I was on a cruise in June, and the ship's director stated the ship was going to be replaced next year.  It's still a fun ship though; I had blast. I'm going back in October again this year.....happy sailing!!!!

right, we can book all the way through Dec 2009. But thats it. Since we can book everything else at least until april 2010, makes you wonder, is this it for Holiday?

My PVP told me it was going to be the Fantasy out of New Orleans.  I heard that they channel had to dredged the shipping lane deeper before they can change it out.   Have fun!!!!!

Well just because you can book until Dec. 2009 doesn't really mean anything.  When I booked my trip out of New Orleans in 2006 I ended up going on a totally different ship then what I had booked and paid for...so you never know.  Either way I am going to enjoy the trip, but I will not complain if I get a bigger ship for free....LOL

As for the Channel....it must be big enough already for the Fantasy was ported in New Orleans this past weekend due to an oil leak.

That does happen but seldom. Carnival has plans for the "new" ship and Holiday. THey do plan years ahead but of course all us "curious" people are dieing to know. I do expect Holiday to be in Mobile until Dec. 2009. That might change but very doubtful.

I also was booked on a sailing back in 2006 and was put on another ship, there were major changes because of Katrina. Ships were used to house workers and then the Sensation had issues with her stabilizers. We actually sailed Fantasy from Port canaveral on a 5 night visiting Half Moon and Nassau(edited to add- I forgot Grand Turk).

I do agree Debbie, if you are booked Holiday in 2009 and get Fantasy (with the evolutions of fun upgrades) that would be awesome.

Well we shall see either way it's going to be a great cruise!   I have been on the Holiday and Fantasy.  I have not been on the Fantasy since the upgrades though. 

I am going to keep my eyes and ears open....

Well if it goes dry dock in September it would make sense to move it then and then give New Orleans a new ship....hmmmm wishful thinking probably....LOL

It's funny....travel agents are pretty much the first to know things...but when they switched ships in New Orleans on us I found out before my agent...LOL...she told me then that I needed to be an agent...I told her I liked being a client. 

well the fantasy was just in mobile and did just fine

 John Heald in his video blog stated that New Orleans was getting a second ship.  So I doubt that it is going to be the Fantasy going to Mobile.  If Tampa river pilots carry through on their threat of an increase in fees, then it is possible that Carnival will pull out of the port.  That will free up another Fantasy class ship.

The channel must already be deep enough because the Fantasy was rerouted yesterday to Mobile for the second time .Here's hoping .Going on the Holiday for the 1st time 08/11 have been on the Inspiration great cruise

So if they are going to add a second ship to New Orleans I wonder where it will travel to?  Sure would be nice if it would go other places besides Cozumel.  I love Cozumel, but would like to go different places.  I know before Katrina they had seven day cruises and I think they went to Jamaica then.  I am sure one of the TA's on here knows.....

 Some are saying that it is going to be the Triumph that is coming to New Orleans but no official word yet.  Carnival accidently released a webpage a couple of weeks ago that showed Nov 2009 with the ship going to Mobay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

We are hoping they will also implement an Eastern week like they are going to do on the Conquest where it will go Key West, Freeport and Nassau.
