    name change

    hello .

me and my wife got married in may.

we took a cruise on may 3rd, all her ID had her old name.

now we are booked on a cruise for sept 09/

we used her old name because on her passport that is the name on it.

(it would cost $90) to get a new passport ))

if she changes her other ID to my new name, will that be a problem?

if so should we change it on the new booking?

    thank you

    Eric

    Re: name change

The names must all match!  Her drivers license has to have the same name as the passport.

it will be a hassle if you keep it as it is now you should change the booking to state current name and get the passsport corrected. it makes things easier a nd leaves no room for questions

I completely agree with Big Footz here.  I would spend the extra money and get everything changed.  Happy Cruising!

    Re: name change

From what I understand, as long as she brings along proof of valid name change (such as marriage license) then you will not have to get the passport changed.

Looking it up, I see that "Guest names on travel documents (passport, Alien Resident Card, birth certificate, etc.) must be identical to those on the cruise and airline tickets. Otherwise, proof of name change (e.g., a marriage license) or a valid driver's license (or other government-issued photo ID) must be presented."

So you might just need to bring a new driver's license with her new name on it.

    Re: name change

In September 09, the only ID that will be required is the Passport. It doesn't matter that other ID is in her married name - the booking must be in the name on her passport.

If you need a picture ID to get onboard in a foreign port of call, then you'll need to use the Passport. You'll also need to make sure you have a picture ID, if you use a credit card, so the name matches.
