Everyone,
Thanks for the positive posts. I'm glad you enjoy the review and are finding it useful. I basically spent the better part of Sun and Mon putting it together. I knew that if I didn't get it done then I never would.
I had read so much negative about the ship and there seemed to be so many unanswered questions out there that I went on the cruise with the objective of taking lots of pics and writing as detailed and lenghty review as I could for the folks that came behind us.
And, if I haven't kicked this dead horse enough, we really enjoyed the Holiday. But, we didn't go thinking it was going to compare to the mega ships just rolling off the line. One thing I am going to update is the fact that I wouldn't want a lower aft cabin due to the engines and the movement. I do remember talking to some folks who lived there and it did bother them. We were more towards the front, so no real problem for us.
Dancing: Yes, there is a disco for 18 and older only. If you go to the picture gallery, you will find the Carnival Capers. I scanned in each day and if you look through there, you will find the times that it opens.
Hotel recommendations Sorry, the only hotel I'm aware of is the Radisson and that's only because I was thinking of saving some money and parking there instead. I would check the Mobile port of call part of this message board and see what they have to say. Failing that, I'd give Travolicity.com a shot. What part of Arkansas? I was stationed at Little Rock AFB from 2003-2005.
Envelopes This just comes from me and my military planning background I guess. Every once in a while it pays off being this anal retentive.
Insofar as the beautiful family comment, I'd like to take credit but we all know they got that from my wife. I used to love it when my kids were babies and someone whould say to me, in the same breath, "they are so lovely, they look just like you." Nope...they can either be lovely or they can look like me, but they can't be both!
Thanks,
Bill
