    Even Bigger Cabana $$$$

Has anyone experienced the BIG cabana? Carnival's info shows MANY dollar signs and also says it accommodates up to 10 people and has a chef, butler and cabana attendant! It says it is 1600 square feet large and the chef will bbq for you and even mix your drinks!

What is the actual price and is it worth the money? I would like to know a real person's opinion BEFORE I fall in love with it!

    Half Moon Cay, Bahamas.

When you read the write up in the shore excursion section, it paints a lovely picture of 5 hours in paradise!

And congrats on your upcoming anniversary!!!

    Hi Karen,

I was just looking at the one too, i'm also wondering if anyone has done it yet

Sounds like a place that i'd enjoy hanging out at too

     I know the $$$$ = $150.00 and up

If you get a few people together, it might be worth the cost

    Its $1200.

I have a client that booked it. Bad thing is there is only 1 and it CANT be booked in advance!

Also, you can book it for more than 10 people, after 10 its pay per person and I cant remember how much that was - sorry

Thanks for the info. My husband was betting the cost would be around $1000. It really sounds WONDERFUL but what  a disappointment there is only one . Something that special would surely be popular and wouldn't many people like to experience a private cabana with all the extras?!?!

    Re: Even Bigger Cabana $$$$

I was in shock when Carnival informed the that there was only 1 of these. So, why cant you book this in advance?  Makes you think that is isnt booked for every sailing. If it was, it seems as though they would add 1 or 2 more.

I have a client who wants to book it for her Sept 2009 cruise. Since she is flying in the day of the cruise, and I will be one of the first people to board (we only live 1 and half hr from the port). So,  she has asked me to  be the first in the excursion line so I can grab it for her. LOL We joked its the amazing cabana race.

I think it would be great if you had a small family group or just small group of friends. Hey, some people spend more than $120 on an excursion.

The really big cabana you're referring to is called a private oasis, and in October 2008 the price was $1,395.00 for the day.

How much is the smaller cabana?  I 've read you can rent it by the hour.  I'm trying to get a price quote so my family and i can get together and rent  one.  I hope they do have more than one(1).  I've read there is only one of the big one the Private Oasis.

The smaller cabana's are around $250 for up to 4 people and I believe it's for the whole day, not by the hour.  Yes, there is only one private cabana.  Our group is also going to be doing the cabana race on our upcoming cruise to hopefully snag this baby up.  When I called Carnival Excursions they told me it would be $1295 up to 12 people, each additional person would be $95 and it included soda, water, alcohol, snacks, food, snorkel gear, floating mats, butler & chef.  Hope that helps a bit!

Yes, the Private Oasis is costing $1395.00. I was the first on the ship for the October 5th, 2009 sailing and we booked it. It was the BEST day of my life. We were totally pampered and relaxed! They said it is only for 5 hours, but we had it for longer. Drinks all day and a lunch spread that was delicious. You have a bartender, chef and room stewards to help you with any possible need you may have. It is totally worth the money and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

I was on that Oct. 5, sailing, hehe. I think I actually saw you all at the private oasis, because I swam over there and started talking to the people who rented it because I didn't realize what it was exactly. I think if you have a good crowd of people it's probably worth it. With 12 people that's a little over $100 a person. That gear and all is expensive to rent, too. The oasis itself looks really nice too. But if there's only a few people like 4, I'd spring for the $250 one, those seem pretty nice too and include all the floats/snorkels/etc.
