Does anyone know of any hotels in the area near Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) that offer "park and cruise" packages (typically includes hotel room for the night, parking at the hotel for the duration of the cruise, and shuttle to/from cruise ship)?  I know this sort of thing is offered in Cocoa Beach for the Port Canaveral cruises.  We're sailing later this year from Fort Lauderdale.  Any information would be appreciated.

I just booked a room at the Comfort Suites at 1800 Federal Hwy in Ft. Lauderdale which included up to 30 days free parking and free shuttle service to and from the cruiseport.  You cannot book directly from the hotel to get this offer because I called them and asked.  I went to the following website (www.stay123.com) to find this great deal.  I spoke to a person directly before booking and he answered all my questions.  I couldn't find anything near this price after days of searching the web!  Total price for 1 room with 2 queen beds for 4 adults came to $102.  That price includes one night's stay, the parking for our car while we're on the cruise, free shuttle transportation and breakfast. Wow. That sounds great. We are going on a cruise in December and I have been wondering about parking while we are gone. Do you know if this is a secure parking area.

It appears the extended parking at Comfort Suites in Ft. Lauderdale is just part of the regular hotel parking area. An aerial view of the hotel shows lots of parking in the back, but I don't think it is secured/fenced in.  Best thing would be to call the hotel and ask about their parking facilities.  Phone number is (954) 767-8700.  Judy

Has anyone used www.stay123.com ?  What deal do you have to request in order to get the free parking?

When you log on to www.stay123.com all you have to do is select cruise port hotels with parking (located on the left corner of the page).  Chose the cruise port you want (I chose Ft. Lauderdale).  A list of available hotels will show up.  I selected Comfort Suites.  Beside the hotel name it states the length of free parking (up to 30 days for this hotel).  Another one had up to 12 days free parking.  All I did was complete the reservation on www.stay123.com for the deal.  A confirmation was sent by email.  A few days later I called the hotel directly to make sure my reservation had been made through www.stay123.com.  The hotel confirmed everything, even the dates I would be leaving our car with them...for FREE!  I don't go until November, but it appears everything is reserved and waiting for my arrival in Ft. Lauderdale.  Hope this helps.        Judy
