    Hey Chell,

Past Guest Rates will be applied once the ship is in comission, as well as any other discounts

Hi ElkRanger - I'm booked on the Dream for April 2010 and this will be my 2nd cruise.  I'm a little confused and hope someone can help explain about past guest rates. I can't  find anything on Carnival.com that really explains it clearly.  My Travel Agent never told me I didn't get past guest rates when I booked in July.  I thought it was automatic.  Now the more I'm reading, the more I'm confused.  Does this mean when the ship is finally commissioned in 2009 my stateroom will come down in price?  Does it happen 'automatically' or am I to call my Travel Agent at that time?  I'd sure appreciate anyone clarifying this for me.   Thanks Confused

    Hi CG,

We called & booked with our PvP the other day for the 23rd & 30th sailings on the Dream

Sarah told me that the discounts weren't inplace as of yet, and that when they were published, that she would automaticlly apply them to both of our sailings

She wasn't sure at this time as to when this would take place, because ( as ev1 knows ) the ship is still under construction

When I get notified, i'd gladly pass the word to you so that you can contact your TA

    Tom ( Freedom B2B is next )

    Re: Carnaval Dream Pricing?

I talked with my travel agent and he told me that there will be NO discounts given due to it being a NEW SHIP also that the first 6 mos of a new commissioned ship there are NO discounts given.  (we tried geting our ,ilitary discount with no luck.) Heck who is telling the truth...all these travle agents better get it stight !  Ever so confusing if you ask me.  We are booked for sailing on The Dream in January 2010 and this will be out 4th cruise.  We just got back from Alaska it was amazing !!!

    Re: Carnaval Dream Pricing?

SonyTee - you are right - who the heck is telling the truth.  For me - IF the Dream is commissioned on time (September 2009), I will be over the 6 month timeframe as I'm sailing in April 2010.  All the same - I think its time to call Carnival and get this sorted.

If this is indeed true - thats not really fair to the loyal passengers who are sailing on this ship.    Thanks for the info.

I just went over to 'Ask Carnival' and posted about past guest discounts on newly commissioned ships.  Hope we get a proper answer from them.

BTW - I'm glad you also enjoyed Alaska - I went in May when it was raining and I still can't stop talking about what a wonderful cruise this was.

    Re: Carnaval Dream Pricing?

It has always been my understanding that past guest discounts are not on all cruises. They are an incentive (like military discounts) to make the ship sell out.
