Dolphin swims..3 in mind..can anyone shed some light?

There are 3 different dolphin swims I have in mind. As far as I can tell they all look like real "swims" and not just "encounters" on a platform.

First, Open Ocean Dolphin Swim in FREEPORT. Second, Swim with the Dolphins in FREEPORT. Third, Dolphin Swim at Blue Lagoon in NASSAU.

Anyone do any of these and can give me some information?

Thanks! Sailing Aug. 24th on Sensation!

We did the Dolphn Swim and Snorkel in Cozumel.  This was an excellent excursion and we were on a platform in an enclosed area and we had lots of interactions with our dolphin.  On our excursion there was a small group of 9 peple in all.  It was amazing to kiss, hold, hug, and be kissed by our dolphin.  They called it a "swim" but we all actually got to go for a ride on our dolphin!!  Big Smile  It was the ride of my life and the Adventure of a Lifetime.  The snorkeling was afterwards in the same enclosed area with the dolphin swimming by us.  Ours was also captured on a DVD that we all got to view to purchase.  Also there were several pictures to choose from and got a good deal in a package price.  Of course we bought  ours!!  Also read the entire description of all the excursions you mentioned on the Carnival website.  That should give you an idea of what to expect and compare them also.  We were also allowed to bring underwater cameras.  Not so on others tho.  You are right, they all seem to differ somewhat.  I knew immediately that the one we chose, (a more expensive one vs. the Encounter) but was worth every penny we spent. This was last October and ours was $165 per person.  I am sure the prices are different now and at your Port.  Hope this helps!!

Thank you Suzy Q!  I know I want to do a dolphin swim, especially after reading great reviews like yours!

Can anyone give me some feedback as to if it would be better to do the swim in nassau or freeport?

Lolo I would say how long are you gonna be in Freeport?? We are sailing Sensation Sept 28th going to Freeport then onto Nassau, BUT freeport is a very short day so we are planning our excursions in Nassau, just to be safe and NOT have to worry about missing the boat..Hope this helps

    Lolo,

I think I would go for the port of call that you are at the longest?  Ours was in Cozumel so my sugestion would be to check the details 1st.  Check out the excursions for both ports of call.  All you have to do is click on "book excursion" and you will get a more detailed description and also the length of time for the excursion itself. That's what I did before I actually finished the booking process online thru Carnival.  (I don't think the time frame includes getting there from the ship either) Our excursion did last approx. 40 minutes.  Plus afterwards you may want to take a shower in their facilities like we did to rinse off the salt water and or change, etc.  We had no idea what to expect after the excursion but we were in Cozumel from 1 pm. to 10 pm. so we had lots of time.
