    Re: Tanzanite Stores in Cozumel

Not saying all stores in Cozmul.  The store manager said that his store was on the list that the cruise line recommend.   He lied, his store was not on the list.   I am still communicating with the credit card company.  The credit card company is still saying I have to pay for the ring, even though it is a fake, not white gold, or not a carat in size.  I now have an attorney who is handling this situation.

I am wondering the results of your inquiry to Chase???

The end of March 2009 I also suffered the same consequences of buying a  "gold Alexandrite stone ring" for $500 (such a deal!) from the same store Mexican Gallery 4  and only to find out from my jewlers that nothing is real...is 925 silver as well. American Express is asking for a full appraisal etc and get this...correspondence from the store in re to resolution..We know this is NOT going to happen! At least I have a card from the store, receipts, and phony Certificate to document this very overcharged ring! I am expecting the appraisal this wk and will submit all documents..and on a lark email the store. I 've now read too many similar reports...such a shame!

I was very fortunate...I send my CC Co. all of these entries from this sight, and I didn't have to pay for the fake bracelet that  I bought from Mexican Gallery.....they are on the list of the Mexican BBB ( Profeco)  as not being a good company to do business with..they have a very bad review.....I think it had said, all their jewelry was fake...but since they do business with tourist, nobody stays to press charges on them....

One guy who lives in Mexico, filed a complaint on my behalf with the Profeco...I was lucky...

Good Luck, and keep persuing it....

I was told by my CC Co. NOT to send anything back, because MG will say they didn't receive it......wait until MG sends you a pre-paid envelope , and use that and only that to mail anything back to them.....

They never send me toe envelope, so I never send anything back.....I got the charges taken off my charge card....

my cc co said i had to send it back with a tracking # then file the dispute if they refused it. i told the rep that they are a very shady company and sell fakes. he said you have to try to return the jewelry and then file a dispute with the tracking # so that it proves that you tried to return the items. so i hope it works.

Re: Centro joyero mahaual / mexico gallery

This is my previous post, it's all I got for ya . . .

I am back from Cozumel where I was able to return 2 pieces of jewelry that I bought at Centro Joyero Mahaual also known as MG International (this is what their sign on the building says yet the VISA receipt prints CENTRO JOYERO MAHAUAL, AV RAFEL E MELGAR ESQ 5 SUR SN COZUMEL QROO 0846832 CAJA 2).  They gave me all my money back and I signed a typed piece of paper saying I would release the hold on my credit card as I have rec'd my money back.  I used my American Express on one piece at the same store and that printed out "MEXICAN GALLERY, RAFAEL MELGAR 45".

I then attempted to locate the other store per my VISA receipt that said "MEXICAN GALLERY, C 7 SUR NO 366, COZUMEL QROO 8699811 CAJA 1" (I asked police officers to show me where the addresss was, young men hanging around were even trying to help me) no such store by that name but I went to the store that I swear was it and the name on their building was "Carribean Dreams".  I'm almost positive the man I talked to was the man who sold me my fake diamond earrings.  He totally denied he was "Mexican Gallery" and I even asked him to print out a VISA receipt proving it printed out Carribean Dreams and they wouldn't, surprise surprise.   The address of    "C 7" is a side street which I did not even walk on when I was there, I only went to stores on the main street.  The men I talked with said these jewelers will move around and change their name all the time.  I don't even remember if I saw the sign saying "Carribean Dreams" when I was there in January.  The receipts they print out don't even match the actual address of the store.

Upon my return home I had a letter from my VISA saying they had credited me on the store I couldn't find so now I have the earrings I bought and they did not get their money.  I am now not out any money thankfully.

    Re: Tanzanite Stores in Cozumel

I have contacted my cc company and they still say that I am responsible to pay the amount of the fake diamond ring.   I told them I will return the ring to them and they could return the ring for me.   Of course, that wasn't possible.  I told them now the dispute is in the hands of my attorney.   I will not pay for an article that was sold to me in false pretense.

I did fax the merchant requesting them to give me the correct address to return the article.  They received the fax, I got the receipt stating that they received the fax, but did not reply with the info.
