Yeah, it's us. We did check out the excursions. What do you think of the Amazing Cozumel Race? That could be fun for all of us to do. I heard that y'all were thinking the cooking thing in Cozumel wasn't gonna be very fun.

I think we're just gonna chill on the boat in Jamaica. Don't know about Grand Cayman yet. Probably some snorkeling.

    Re: ROLL CALL- 10/19/08

The Amazing Cozumel Race seems to be popular. I've read several reviews on cruisecritic and for the most part they've been pretty favorable. When we first read about the cooking excursion it seemed that the main complaint was that it was hot and the area was not air conditioned and with all the free alcohol, some people may have had too much. I've gone back and read a bit more and people seem to really like it. Someone also recommended a lady and it is about the same cost as the excursion sound seems more one on one. http://www.cozumelmycozumel.com/Pages/CozumelCruisesCookingClass.htm We've decided to chill in Jamaice too. I will probably get off and shop in the area right off the pier. The gals should make it SPA day. :-) I think we are still planning on snokeling in Grand Cayman at Rum Point. We need to just get the jeeps rented. If your interested, let us know. Ma & Pa Z want to come that day too. J

Hello dsvotex and eandcpeoples.... nice to see others who will be sailing with us.

With Hubby and I, will be his brother and sister-in-law and his folks. The 6 of us have sailed together once before and had a really good time. Isn't that right Mista Wick? :-)   I'm sure my sister in law would agree that doing just about anything with the family can turn quiet interesting. I'm sure there is lots of fun in store.

dsvotex and eandcpeoples-- Anything fun planned for the ports?

We will be swimming with dolphins in Cozumel and feeding stingrays in Grand Cayman.  MoBay - if we get off the ship at all, it will only be for the shops right at the pier.  Too many scary stories - not a safe port.  We have vacationed with family before, and yes...it can get interesting...lol.  I can't wait.  We will be driving to Galveston the day before - 10 1/2 hrs.  Next year we will be cruising with my parents and our kiddos.  Kiddos not happy they have to go to school for this next cruise.  I won't know how to act without them on the ship...lol.  What deck are you all staying on?  We are on the Empress deck.

    eandcpeoples...

I agree about Jamaica. Last time we were there we rode four wheelers in a citrus plantation and although that was a fun little "adventure"--- we won't be doing that again. I plan on doing the same there-- just get off and shop for a bit.

10 1/2 is quite a drive. Luckily we are only about 2 1/2 hours away but I think we may drive down the night before just to be closer. Why not start vacation off as early as possible!!

A whole week without your kiddos... I guess they will also have to wonder what mom and dad are up to.

We are on the Panorama Deck. We went ahead and picked our room, I can't stand the wait of knowing where we'll be. Too impatient I guess.

    110 days left!

We always pick our room so we know where it's at...lol.  I know the drive sounds long, but with flight connections and transportation it was going to be about the same.  This way we don't have to mess with all the airport hassle.  I agree with starting vacation as soon as possible.  :)

We were starting to get too far down the list, so I thought I'd say Hello and wish everyone a Happy 4th. Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday weekend.

eandcpeople-- I was all proud that I figured out the whole ticker thing BUT I think I'd rather just see yours. Your ship is much "closer" to being there than mine. Hmmm... odd.

    Re: ROLL CALL- 10/19/08

Where do I begin.......what to wear for the 'big dinner' (Sunday's best or a little fancier?), ease of check in/out, and suggestions for shore excursions.  I also heard something about purchasing a card or cup for 'free refills' on soft drinks.  Is that worth the $$.  What are the usual temperatures in the Caribbean in Oct.?  It is just hotter than heck here most of the year in Texas.

We have traveled throughout most of the US and a few parts of Europe, but have never cruised.  Really looking forward to going.
