I'm glad to see more people on this ship. I was beginning to think it was only us and two moms with two 18 y/o's I met on another website.

have you been to the bahamas before?  we decided to do eay this trip... no excursions (no kids hehehe).  i was rea\ding on cruise critic about a cruiser's beach they found on nassau.  i think we are gonna do that, easy and relaxed.....lets meet for a drink on board... we can compare notes:)

Nope, this is my first trip to the Bahamas. I am so excited. It's my 2nd cruise but my boyfriend's first. I am also on cruisecritic (under the same name). I am so overwhelmed by info, I don't know whether to take it easy and figure it out as I get there or to do an excursion and then take it from there. I'd be all about meeting for a drink!

This is actually my 7th time to Nassau and my husbands third.  We never really plan to do anything specific except relax, eat and drink.  We love no time pressures and the come and go as you like.  I love shopping in Freeport and and definately a stop to Bahama Mama's bar when we are there and then over to the square for some shopping.

In Nassau last time we did the Booze cruise.  Nothing spectacular....Nice beach though...love to meet for a drink....

Awsome, we are going to have a really cool group! Looks like I'm the only Bahamas newbie. I don't think we are planning anything besides shopping for Freeport, it's Nassau that we might do more since we'll be there all day and night. I am looking forward to some island fare though. I read all about cracked conch and guava duff. And of course, I need to drink (several) Bahama Mamas.  Cool

another cruiser said to catch a cab in freeport and go to Lucaya ($5 ea person one way). they will drop you off right in front of the market area.  small shope, restaraunts. etc.  there is a casino and next to that  the "our lucaya" resort. $15.00 per person gives you use of the facilities for the entire day(beach chairs, pool use, rest room use etc.) catch a cab in front of the casino to get back to the ship.

in Nassau the british colonial hotel charges $20 pp for a day pass.  same deal use of all their facilities and no taxi!!

and yes... let's DEF meet for a drink the first night.  pick a time and place and lemme know!

I am Missy and my boyfriend's name is Andy. We are going for no particular reason except for that I try to vacation in September and I liked the price. I can't wait to meet you guys. We are arriving a day earlier and spending the night at the Radisson at the Port.

    Re: Sensation September 21st

My husband Jarrow and I (Aimee) will also be staying in the area the previous night.  The funny part is that I am driving from Wisconsin and Jarrow will be flying down on Saturday.  So any info I can get for the drive down, how long etc would be great.  I am planning on leaving NE Wisconsin on Thursday to be in Orlando by Saturday afternoon.

Definately will check into the Raddison idea...Can't wait to get there.

this will be our third time at the radisson.  $99 plus tax(comes to about $112).  BUT you get a free shuttle to and from the port AND free parking behind the hotel for the duration of the cruise.  the hotel is nice, rooms are clean, AND THE POOL BAR ROCKS!!(hehehehe) there is a pizza place next door and a mcdonalds across the street if youdont want to do their breakfast buffet.  we never have, we save our appetite for the great buffet when we board.  so if you figur $60 just to park, you are getting the room for $62.  not a bad deal.  jim and i will be at the pool bar at 7:30pm.  we plan on starting our vacation early.::))
