Re: tell me...cabbage beach...is it true?!!!!!!!

yes it is on paradise island.........beside the atlantis resort........but all u need to do is to tell the taxi driver u wanna go to cabbage beach and for 5 bucks he will drop u off at the path to the beach, where there will be 5 or 6 guys waiting to get u to the beach....get u a chair.....get u a coconut......whatever u want.......they have watersports such as banana boats, parasailing, jet skis, and oh yeah, their prices are negotiable........which people dont realize......jet skis are usually around 160 an hr........we got 2 machines for 100 for 45 minutes......just tell them what u r willing to pay and they will deal with you....DONT BOOK AHEAD>>>>>>>> u can talk them into the price u r willing to pay...the jet skis are great too by the way i had a blast now i wanna buy one lol...there arelocals on the beach selling jewelry,,, beach cover ups,,,chips,,,water,,,coke,,,,im telling you anything u want even cuban cigars......and a lot of paople dont know about this place it is beautiful very very beautiful and a lot of fun.........just dont get too drunk and pass out lol  HAVE A GREAT TIME~

Okay!!  Our group is a fun group of four women from my office - 2 nurses and 2 paralegals.  This place is totally new to us and I am getting bombarded with questions.  Are there bathroom facilities there?  Do we get to keep the coconuts or do they take them away cause you can't bring them back to the states??  Is the beach crowded??  Do you have the problem with the fuel / diesel oil smell from the boats and harbor???

Re: tell me...cabbage beach...is it true?!!!!!!!

lol...wish i was goin with u guys lol......i am a housewife with 4 kids......ok lets see....no bathroom facilities but like i said......rightbeside atlantis and u can use their facilities.....i wanted to keep my coconut...but was afraid to take it on the ship..so i threw it away and i think u have to BUT u can buy a monkey head coconut on the sensation and u get to keep that one.....i did get my coconut filled b4 i left the beach and drank it on the cab ride back lol .....YES THE BEACH IS VERY CROWDED!!!!...but it really is ok.....nobody bothers you unless u wanna talk and nobody messes with your things....and also if you are modest dont worry im fat i dont think anybody noticed lol ...and finally....there is no problem with any fuel smell anything......it is abslutely breathtaking...so beautiful i cant wait till u go so u can tell me if u liked it....and if yo are going to Freeport.......here is another one you should know.........Take a cab to the market..........walk all the wat down the road........past the marketplace.........there are resorts everywhere.........and they try to sell u day passes on the ship........dont buy one..........go all the way to the last resort.i have no idea which one it is that we went into.........we walked right to the beach.........and grabbed a chair.........when the security gaurd came to us and we thought we were in trouble..........all he said was that the beach is public........the chairs are rented for 10 dollars so we paid up....the beach was very not crowded.........combed....beautiful.........crystal clear water ......right at the end of the beach there is a wonderful point to lay out and the water is very very calm........just like a giant pool you girls will enjoy this as well.........serene and peaceful......dont forget your watch because the ship leaves at 5.....

Freeport - we will be there the day before.  Is this place by Port Lucuya??  Are there restroom facilities there and is it like Cabbage Beach, with the vendors, coconuts, etc.??

Re: tell me...cabbage beach...is it true?!!!!!!!

no...this place is the opposite of cabbage beachWink it is very quiet......because again most people dont know you can go like that.........it is secluded........and very quiet...again you are very close to the resort for bathroom ect....close to the marketplace...i found out about it because i asked a local lady in the shops right off of the ship where the local beach was...she said go to lacaya.....it is way different than nassau...it hasnt been overdone by tourist attractions and there are plenty of restaurants and shops right across the street at the marketplace...just hop in a cab tell em to take u to the beach....when you get to port lucaya ask them to point you in the direction.....and then you will find a very beautiful place....tranquility and peace you should go to both beaches as they are so so different.......even the water and sand are different i loved them both

Re: tell me...cabbage beach...is it true?!!!!!!!

I will do that!! Next year, same time, we are doing a "Mommy n Me cruise with my mother, my daughters, my 2 granddaughters  (will be 8 & 4), my aunts, their daughters, friends and their daughters.  Should be a great time.  Really looking forward to it, but trying to pin everyone down to a date....thinking October 1 or 2, 2009, and probably on the Imagination as my youngest daughter lives in Miami.  SOOO exciting.
