Going to try our youngest for the first time. All went well with the oldest last time on Ecstacy. We will be accompanied by my Sis and her family so that makes

Me 44, wife, not saying, 6 and 3 year old  Sis non saying, her husband and their 3 kids from 10-5 yo. Anyone else here ready to go yet.

I am also going on a family cruise. I see you are going on Sept 29 we are going on Sept 25. We just missed each other by a few days. So when my ship docks that day you will be getting on. I am also out of Austin so I just wanted to say hi.

We're in!  Me . .  . let's just say I'm older than you are.  My DH is even OLDER.  We're taking our youngest . . .who'll have just turned 21 and will now be able to drink  . . . legally this time.  (She had quite a time in Cozumel on our first cruise . . . Rhapsody in 2006)

We've only done a couple of cruises before this and both have been on RC so we're eager to compare/contrast and have been pleasantly surprised at recent reviews. 

We're in super south Austin . . . most people know it as Kyle.

The first thing you will notice is that it is a little more laid back than RC. We actually found the food to be better than most of the RC trips on our one cruise with Carnival.

The shows were the biggest difference. RC- just under Las Vegas level shows

Carnival is more like High School Level. but the overall trips were enjoyable.

Oh and the rooms are a tad bigger.

I am sure you will see me, I will be the one with the OU Sooners cap on more often than not.

We'll be there with our Coconut Monkeyhead drinks. Have cruised RC and Carnival and even though we are older we both like Carnival much better. The employees seem to be better trained and more friendly. Yes Carnival has the Fun Ships. Sooner we wouldn't hold that against you lol.

Good info, thanks.  Rookies that we were, we probably saw every last show the first time out, then wised up and caught maybe two while on Voyager in April. They struck us as a bit cheesy.  (I must admit that the skating show was nothing short of phenomenal, though)  Nothing against the entertainers; just not our cup of tea.

I heard that xcaret was a better park. I havent been to neither of them personally but everyone I talk to that has recommends that one. I am also leaving out of Austin. Small world.. I am so ready to cruise on out of here and enjoy my monkeyheads !

centex, if you're still reading this forum a little info. I'd go to Dzibilchaltun and see the ruins there. They are much closer than the other ruins and you will have time to shop in Progreso before getting back on board. 7 weeks to go whoo hoo.

TIME FOR BUMP

Hi everyone!

This is my first cruise and I can't wait!!  I'm going to be traveling with my 2 sisters in law and niece and about 143 others. LOL 

I'm going to be with a Red Hat group from this area (one of the SIL is in the group) and it was a great package deal! I'm not old enough to wear the red, but I look better in pink anyways! There are a few like me that are tag alongs with the Red Hatters!

I've been reading up on all the tips and such for 2 days now! LOL Just a little excited to be going on that first cruise!!!

Hope all the hurricane's are gone by the end of the month!
