    Parking at New York Port

From your website, we are informed that parking is $24 per day at the New York Port.  However, due to input from other sources, we need to inquire if that $24/day includes all taxes, fees, etc.  Additionally, are there any other less expensive options for parking?

We look forward to our June 19th cruise on the Carnival Victory (our 4th Carnival cruise in the last two years!)

    Thanks for your assistance.

I thought the price had just increased to $30 a day? I would confirm the cost with Carnival if I were you.

Parking at Port of NY is $30 per day. But keep in mind that this facility has nothing to do with Carnival. The prices are set through Port Authority as they own the parking facility, so any changes in price that may occur, Carnival always doesn't get the heads up on.

Be aware that is for cars only. SUVs pay 37.00 dollars i believe.

Patrick, where in Oswego are you from?  We are from Fulton (Volney actually).  My daughter works at The Mustard Seed.  We're going to Canada/New England out of NYC in August, but we're going to take Jetblue down into JFK.

is taking the train out of albany, then private car/taxi to the pier. much better than paying 30 a day for parking, plus gas, tolls, aggravation. lol. and 37 for suv's? dang, mine is classified as an suv, dang it. so i'm saving more money then. thats always good!

According to their website it is 30 dollars per night.  There is no mention of a different price for SUVs.  I parked there years ago with my Mazda CX7 and did not pay extra, but I'm not sure what it counts as an SUV since it is a mid-sized vehicle and actually referred to as a CUV.

Re: Parking at New York Port

Hello jks336! I will explain my situation then ask you a few questions. I live at the tip of lake Champlain on the canadian side we are 8 miles from alburg springs vermont border. My son and i are going to ny,ny on sept 20,2009 taking the miracle cruise sep 21,2009. First cruise for me since july 1992. Staying at the hampton inn chealsy,We are driving and the hampton parking will be 40.00$ and at port is 30.00$ a day.I got a good price for motel 2 queen beds view of new york city for 135.00 tax not included it was cheap because i took no cancellation policy otherwise it would have cost 267.00 tax not included. So my questions are: How did you get to train station in albany? where is it? what company? If you took your car how much for parking at train station in albany ? How much per person return ticket for train? What time did you have to be at train station? How much would taxi cost me from train station in ny city to hampton inn chealsy? How much do i give for tip? Do you know if there is a bus from albany and how much would it cost return ticket for 2 and is there a charge for parking? where is it and what company? I found out too late after booking my room reading the reviews from here that i could have drove to yankee trails buss on the 21st of sept. They have a bus that takes you straight to port for 80.00$ each return ticket plus no charge for parking there. But i phoned to see if they have a bus leaving on the 20th and the say no it's only for the 21st cruises only.  You see i guess i am one of those people  who pays then learns. More knowledge from this site helps everyone who travels. If you can't answer all my questions i am sure someone else on here can fill in the other blanks. Thank you for taking time to read this if i can save a few $$$$$ for travelling i will be able to enjoy a monkeyhead drink on the miracle. lol

Re: Parking at New York Port

Hi Chrislin, ok, let me try and answer your questions lol :) i live 1 1/2 hrs from the albany/rennselaer Amtrak train station. i paid $40.00 for the "week" to park there. the cost of the ticket with my AAA discount for 2 ppl was $130.00 roundtrip. except for the gas it seems you got a good price for the hotel and parking. Did you ask them if they have a shuttle that will take you to the port? if i remember correctly someone stayed there i think and paid their shuttle to take them and pick them up. give them a call and see :) otherwise, not sure what a taxi would cost but we used Carmel Car service from the train to the port. give them a call and you tell them how many ppl how many pieces of luggage from the hotel to the port  New York City Passenger Ship Terminal
Pier# 88/90/92 711 12th Avenue at 55th Street New York City, New York 10019 Carmel #212-666-6666 (just looked up the #, doesnt seem the same lol) and they will tell you the price plus tip.

so check both and see which is the better option. i tend to research everything as much as possible before i book lol. i only went the one way with carmel since it was a monday but took a chance on the taxi back to the train station which wasnt too far and i did pay less going back, but i liked the idea that i wouldnt pay tons of money being stuck in traffic with a taxi lol.

Thank you very much for the input. I would rather take the train into ny being that my son 18 and i have never been to ny city. It will take away the panic attacks. lol
