This will be our second cruise, first on the class ship. We have a balcony room. We are excited about it. Took our first cruise in April out of New Orleans on the Fantasy. It was great, we came home and booked this cruise within two weeks. We were ready to go again.
Anyone else going??????
Hi Deb,
Have Fun on the Freedom, we will be getting onboard the day you get off
Were doin a Back-2-Back on the Freedom starting on the 31st of Jan thru the 14th of Feb
Tom (aka) ElkRanger
We are going on January 25th too!! We were on Elation in April out of San diego and couldn't wait to go again also. We have a balcony room in the back of the ship, we are a little worried about noise, on Elation we had so much noise each day we were in port it woke us up each day so we are hoping for much quietier mornings this time. Are you going to FLL the day before? if you are where are you staying? Hotels are so expensive down there. We booked 1 at the hampton inn and changed to a ramada just to save a little cash. Do you have any kids you're bringing with?
We are staying at the Rodeway Inns and Suites. Never stayed there so just hope it is okay. We are flying in on the 24th, from Birmingham, Alabama. We have a balcony room in the middle but we are over some of the lounges so it could be loud. We do not have kids with us. Our kids are all grown. We hope to bring our twin grand daughters on one soon.
Deb: We are on this sailing as well. This will be the second leg of our b2b. We are doing the 8 day on the 17th and then staying on for this 6 day. This will be our first b2b but have cruise for many many years; its addictive :)
Sounds fun, hope to do that one day.
Jamie:
Are you in an aft cabin at the very back? They are my favorite cabins of all the balconies. It will be quiet back there as not too many people go all the way back to the ship. Also the views are incredible!
As an added bonus you get in a few extra steps to walk off all the extra dessert :)
It is not an aft cabin, it is toward the front of the ship. I will need to walk as much as possible. Since I hope to have lost at least 50 or 60 pounds by then and I sure can't gain any of it back or my doctor will "KILL" me.
We are in an Aft balcony. They said when we booked they are a little bigger then others. I've read that the room is smaller though any thoughts on that?
This is only my second cruise. So I have never been in an aft cabin. I am no help but I am sure someone else help you.
We have a balcony cabin, also. One day I want to do a suite. Maybe on the next one. Have heard they are really nice.
Jamie: You will love the aft cabins, they are my favorite. The balcony is a little bit deeper but the cabin is the same size as the others - or if there is a difference it is too small to even notice. You will not have a lot of foot traffic back there as not a lot of people walk all the way back there.
The sunsets will be beautiful and pulling out of the ports is also nice on the balcony....Enjoy
do you know what kind of seating is on the balcony? is it 2 lounge chairs? How about noise pulling into port ie. anchors/engine noise? just curious if you know.
I am just excited to have a balcony. This will be our first balcony and everyone says you will be hooked on them.
Anyone else sailing with us. Post are slow on here.
