Grand Turk - looking for excursion

I heard there was an excursion that took you to the conch farm, I think it is actually in Provo...has anyone seen this available anywhere or done it?  We are really interested in doing this, even though it is on one of the other islands.  But someone told me they thought there was an excursion available for it....any info would be great! Thanks

We were at Grand Turk last week, but don't recall seeing that excursion. Actually, we went to the beach there by the pier, & did not do any excursions.

Re: Grand Turk - looking for excursion

We just got back from Grand Turk about a month ago.  We rented a cabana.  It was located at the pool at the port.  The beach was in close proximity.  We had our own cabana boy who delivered us food and drink (at our cost).  Margaritaville was right there, and the mango margaritas were excellent.  The cabana had 2 lie down chairs on the porch in the shade, which you could move if you wanted to sunbathe.  Inside, it had a table for four, places to hang your towells, ect.  It was very beautifully decorated inside.  It was nice to have the ocean and a chlorine pool just steps away.  It also had a fresh water shower to rinse off in, just outside your porch.  The people who had not rented a cabana were very jealous and wanted to know how to get one.  You probably need to book early.  There are only 8 cabanas for rent.  The price was $100 for 4 people for the entire day.  Well worth it!

On another note, later in the day we did the reef N' rays.  An excellent excursion.  The reef is pristine.  The 4 foot barracudda (Harry) and nurse shark (3 1/2 foot) were awesome.  We then went to Gibbs Cay for the stingrays.  They are amazing.  All in all, it's only about a little over 2 hour excursion, but it was really great!

That sounds so awesome!  Is the Margaritaville the swim up bar I read about?  Do you have to be 21 to be at Margaritaville or is it in a central location where people of all ages are?  Thanks!

I don't remember if  Margaritaville had a swim up bar.  It was really cool!  You do not have to be 21 to be at Margaritaville.  We brought our boys (10 and 13) and they hung out in the pool and the cabana.  There were lots of kid there.  Enjoy paradise if you get to go there!

How is the beach by the pier?  I thought about doing that and I heard Marguritaville is near the pier also and a cool thing to check out.  Is shopping in walking distance from the pier also?  I'd like to try all 3.

The beach by the pier was very nice.  Margaritaville is the bomb.  And shopping is right there at the pier.  There is a Ron Jon's Surf Shop, jewelry, booze, clothes, jewelry, ect.  I didn't think the prices were outstanding, but the quality was good.

    Hi-

I am going on the Destiny in October of 2008.  I am going with my husband and 8 year old son.  I have booked the Gibbs Cay Stingray and Beach excursion, but am wondering if the reef N rays would better.  There is only a $10.00 difference in booking.  I also was wondering if you had any thoughts on whether it would be better to to the 8:00 am excursion or the 11:30 am time.

    Any suggestions?

Is the pier by the beach different from Governor's Beach? From the excursion description looks like Governor's Beach is away from the pier.  We want to do a beach day at Grand Turk but unsure of exactly what to do.   What's the cost for the beach at the pier?  Any beach suggestions would be appreciated!

I am very interested in renting a cabana.  Where or who do i go thru to rent one?  Also have you heard from anyone who has done the dune buggy trip?

I haven't done the excursion you are speaking of, but Reefs and Rays was awesome.  Very kid friendly!

Shopping, beach, and Margaritaville are all at the dock!  What a great destination!  Very remote and pristine!

Re: Grand Turk - looking for excursion

I rented the cabana thru Carnival.  Book it quick, there are only 10 to rent.  And possibly more than one cruise ship there depending on the day.  Also, try Margaritaville online.  That may be a way to book, I'm not sure.  The price was $100 for 4 people.  The cabana has a hotline to your cabana boy just by pushing a button.  He runs right over to get you what you need.  Tell our favorite cabana boy Inky we said hello!  LOL

Re: Grand Turk - looking for excursion

Traveling to Grand Turk next summer. I checked out the excursion on Carnival, and it shows that the excursion lasts one (1) hour. Does that mean that the $100 for 4 people is only for 1 hour?

Re: Grand Turk - looking for excursion

Carnival told me they don't have the cabana in grand turk to rent. They said to try the beach where it is located, but i thought someone told me it was poolside at Margaritaville.  I got on Margaritaville site and found nothing. I guess we will have to wing it!!

The price I was told was $100 for 4 people for all day.
