    Snorkeling/Excursions in Cabo/Ensenada 6/2008 Help

We are going on the Elation ship in June and want to do snorkeling.  I see there are a couple of options.  Can anyone please recommend anything or at least share your opinions?

Also, if you can add any comments about any of the shore excursions in Cabo or Ensenada?  Does anyome have a must do? Cost at this time does not matter we just want to have fun!!!!!

     Thanks ahead of time!

I'm going on the Sail & Snorkel Fiesta when I go May 31-June 5. When is your cruise? This was one of the cheapest and shortest time excurision. I'm hoping it is a good one!

Looking forward to your thought's  email me at m.cadle@cox.net . The AZ Republic newspaper did recommand the Chileno bay snorkeling, but I was looking for input from other peoples input before ooking anything.  My other concern is the bar bill.  If your a cocktail drinker, any tips on that will help too.

Check out this website: http://www.seauonboard.com/cruise101.htm   It is by a gal that is on these message boards a lot. I think there are drink prices on there. I'm guessing they are about the same on all the ships. It will give you an idea.

We went with Pez Gato's "Booze Cruise" and we loved it!  Of course I don't have a large frame of reference as it was my first time snorkeling, but I loved the staff - they were funny and engaging... they played music on the catamaran and gave us lots of rum punch (after the snorkeling, of course!).  It was a blast.  I only regret not buying a t-shirt and I can't now because they don't ship to the US.

To the person that booked the Pez Gato Snorkel. I am also going on this next week. My cruise is 26th through 31st. I am way excited!!! so you had a blast? I was not sure to book that one or not, but for the money it seemed to be the best. Food, Drink and they take you right to the reefs is that correct? did you see alot of fish? How cold was the water? I am glad now I booked it, it was far less then going through CCL to do it.

We have snorkeled several times with a man named Eduardo Padilla (rissacat@prodigy.net.mx) when in Cabo.  You could eat off of any part of his custom built catamaran.  Unlike all the other tours that have hordes of people, he only takes 20 max.  First class treatment all the way.  After snorkeling, they serve a fab lunch of chicken tortillas, homemade guacamole and the best margaritas we've ever had. (All included in the $50 fare).  It is relaxed and comfortable, and the crew is awesome.  If you haven't booked anything yet, I highly recommend this tour, you won't be sorry.  The tour is from 10-1 leaving time to shop in town. We are going on the June 23-27 cruise ourselves.

Based on Leana's suggestions above I contacted Eduardo. He did have openings for June 25 the price this year is $55 pp. We won't be back in time to let you know how it went but the time is perfect for us. 10 to 1 w/time to still wander around Cabo.Looking forward to it! Joanne

    Re: Snorkeling/Excursions in Cabo/Ensenada 6/2008 Help

The Snorkel and Sail Fiesta was pretty fun! There was a wide age range of people. The boat was not packed at all. We were told there were about 50 people but it did not seem like that many. First, we went near lover's beach and snorkeled for about 45 min. It may seem like a short time to snorkel but I was exhausted by then. One of the guys even brought a dead fish out to the water so the fish would come to the top so you could see them better. The rest of the time we rode around the beach and saw the seals. They served all you can drink margaritas, Tequila Sunrises, and some beer. They played music and wanted everyone to join and dance. There was one family that looked like they weren't having a good time. I would say that this can be for families as well but know that there will be college aged people drinking and dancing. It was worth the $50.

Hey JL thanks for posting about your snorker cruise. I signed up for the one recommended by Leana, the cat only takes 20 pp. I was alittle worried about having to keep an eye on my 14 going on 16 year old daughter if there was a lot of partying after the snorkeling. I'll post to let everyone know about the excursion we take.

    Re: Snorkeling/Excursions in Cabo/Ensenada 6/2008 Help

All of this talk about margaritas and dancing is getting me excited . . . and I still have 176 more days until we leave.  Thanks for the great advice about the Snorkel and Sail Fiesta!  Was that booked through Carnival?  Did you pay $50 per person or for a couple?  We are still debating about scheduling an excusion with Carnival or just waiting until we get to the beach, as I hear you can find excursions as soon as you get off of the ship.  Any recommendations??
