Anyone else going??

My husband and I will be taking this cruise!  We're first time cruisers and I'm new to the board.

 The trip is a surprise for his 30th birthday, so we'll see if I can keep it a secret for another 111 days!

Hi, I am on the sailing on July 16th.  I saw that you are from Rose Hill.  I lived in Wichita, Derby line for 8 years.  I now live in California (Air Force), I really miss Kansas alot.  Just thought I would drop a line to say hello, it was nice to see a familiar city on here.

I'm amazed anyone has heard of Rose Hill!  I work in Derby.  Such a small world!

Hi, good to see another sailing on July 16. We'll be on the ship to, we are out of Omaha, NE. Hope you enjoy your trip, our first to Alaska.. Will you be sailing with anyone? This will be to celebrate our 50th bday and 30th anniversary.

This is our first trip to Alaska also.  I am sailing with my husband, two kids (11 and 5) and my in-laws.  I can't wait, I am so excited.  This wasn't exactly planned for this, but my husband and I will be celebrating our 13th anniversay on July 21st.  My husband and I have previously cruised, but this is a first for everyone else.

My husband and I are sailing this date.  We're flying in from Tampa, FL on the 12th to VC just to be safe.   After the trip we will stay an extra week and do our own land tour - we figured we may not get there again, so we should do it all.  I've booked all our excursions through private operators except for Sitka.  Still waiting to hear back from the fishing charter, but since it is a tender port, we may use Carnival so we can be guaranteed to get off the ship and not miss the excursion.  Now to hope for no hurricanes @ home!!  We booked this over a year ago,  have suite 8268 port/aft.

DH and I are flying from NC to VC on the 13th. We also booked last year and I have been impatient ever since.

We are also cruising on 8/13/08!!  My husband I along another couple from Ludington, and several couples from the Florida area - celebrating a couple of 25th year anniversaries including  ours!!!

We cruised 20 years ago - the other couple coming with us has never cruised....we are spending a couple of extra days at each end of the cruise to experience the area....

Any tips and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

We'll have to meet up on board!  My husband and I aren't traveling with anyone else, so new friends will be welcomed!

We aren't spending any extra time in Vancouver, but we are spending time in Anchorage and Denali afterwards.  We plan on doing some hiking in Denali as well as white-water rafting.  Not sure what we're doing in Anchorage.  That's the one part of the trip that I haven't planned out every little detail :)

It would be great to meet new people............ I just spoke to the couple from Florida who have been spear heading the trip for us - sounds like we have a total group of 21 people!!! I only personally know 4 of the others besides my husband and myself..........it should be fun!!! I am definitely pumped!!! Have you cruised before????? This is a trip of a lifetime for us..... We just booked three shore excursions this past week - only one through the ship itself - seemed to save money by booking the others with each of the other companys themselves???? Hope it all works out!!

It would be great to all meet up on board somewhere. Any ideas as to when and where? Only 40 days left!!!

sorry for the mistake, we are sailing on july 16,08. we have 11 days left. it would had been great to meet with you. i will drop a line when we return to let you know how things went for us. we can't wait!!

I think meeting up the first evening or our first full day at sea would work. That way it wouldn't interfere with going into port and we can compare notes on all of our plans. Any other ideas? That's just a suggestion. I'm not sure of a good place or specific time. Having never been on a cruise, I really don't know what to expect.

What do ya'll have planned for the first evening other than settling in? We'll have muster drill about 5:00-5:30 or so and after that we'll just wander around, check things out get something to eat. We could meet up then if you want.
